We are heading for a depression and the government is at the controls. All sales are down everywhere B&M, on-line, everywhere. If you are not selling necessities you are not getting many sales......I know how you feel I sell Antique Art and it is dead right now.

My sales are only limited by my ability/willingness to list. As it has always been.

This is the **bleep** reply i received when i provided a negative review to ebay re: 'views and watches':
Hi, thanks for your feedback.
Did you read the Seller Update that explains why we made this update? We’re updating to a more accurate way of counting listing page views
What you have experienced is a one-time drop as we made the switch from the old counting methodology to the new more accurate methodology.
Thanks,
David

Understand that - you are in that state that like to tax any thing that moves. In GA where I live we are at 4.19/gal for regular now with a relief of our state fuel tax of 19 cents/gal from our Governor. Understand Cali has no sympathy for their working/retired people. That price is almost double since Jan. 2021. plus homes are much less expensive here.and always have been..

Nuttin' from Nuttin' = Nuttin' even when on line selling is Hot. Maybe you'll hit the Powerball.

List more, complain less. Lower your item prices by a modest amount, once a week.

As food prices go through the roof and gasoline has more than doubled per gallon I'd guess the dismal economy is having a very negative impact on sales everywhere . When the people in Los Angeles for an example can no longer afford to commute to work with gas prices as high as 7.50 a gallon it's unlikely they will be shopping for anything they don't absolutely need .

I live in California and you are 100 % spot on .The powers at be do not care about the working class no matter what they say or what they promise them .

Since eBay started to handle all payments, I have my payments sent weekly. In the last month they have gone from around $1,000 per week to $200 per week. My daily pick up from USPS is no longer necessary. This happened only briefly during Covid when people were scared that Covid could be transferred on boxes, plastic, etc. I feel sure that eBay deciding to ruin the category searches didn't help a thing, but I don't think that is it. It is the economy, people are scared. Gas, groceries, building materials, major appliances all UP while investments and soon real estate all DOWN. That makes items like mine not necessary at the this time. I hope you will think about all this when voting the next time you have the opportunity.

I've been fortunate to be having sales that are only a little lower than last year, and still today I took 9 sales to the PO. Not great with nearly 800 listings, but not that really bad, either. I've been forced to get wiser with sourcing, as well as with the type of items I'm listing.
After living in California for exactly 50 years, thank God I left the Santa Cruz/SF Bay Area when I retired back in August 2017 and moved here to Idaho. Best move I ever made. Got nearly twice the house for half the money right on the banks of the Spokane river just out my back door. Met my fantastic bride here too. All I had to do was make a decision, get off my butt, and take action. Yet, even with gas here currently at around $4.89 a gallon, my truck is mostly sitting in the garage while my wife and I use our smaller car instead and make our trips to Costco, Home Depot and Walmart a lot less often.
I really feel for my youngest son, an LAPD officer, and his wife who are still there with the "Golden State Handcuffs" firmly attached and living in a more violent area. And when I tried to tell my friends that a mass exodus from California was coming (and now here), I was told that they wanted to stay because of the weather. Now they're telling me that I was smart to get the "H" out when I did. If I had stayed, I would have lost my television production career because of some of the lockdowns that were unnecessary, like most of my career buddies lost theirs, not to mention my home in the Santa Cruz Mountains. A lot of people are now similarly experiencing the snowball effect of the economy all over the US.
Let's hope that the midterms this November will bring in more level-headed congressional representatives to put a halt to the spiral of reckless spending bills that get sent to the Senate and then to the president. This a hope and something to look forward to, as I'm tired of seeing our investments declining in value.
Fingers crossed... and a lesson in patience for me. My wife and I do have many blessings to count.
Cheers, Duffy

It has to do with all the senseless changes ebay is making. They have totally destroyed the jewelry sales. People on here are blaming the drop in sales on the gas prices and economy BUT, if that were the case then the other platforms would show the same. THEY DO NOT. Sales actually increased. Since October of 2021 the other platforms have OUTSOLD ebay several times. This has NEVER happened or was even close in the past. Their search engine has also become totally screwed up. In the past you could easily research items. Now the search results are usually irrelevant. Sad part is ebay keeps moving forward and focuses on pointless gimmicks IE the new look of messaging.... DUMB. This is what happens when you allow employees with ZERO knowledge to come up with ideas.
