Sales has dropped dramatically on Ebay. Why? One of the reasons is the high fees that ebay charges that makes sellers to rise prices on their items. Also I attribute the change on ebay financing methods that changed claiming that it would be better for sellers when in reality we were better off with the old method. Also in my case I seen Ebay break their own policies. I am tented to cancel my two accounts or switch to other selling sites.

I've curbed my buying on eBay due to the high cost of shipping, not the cost of the items themselves--which is certainly not the fault of sellers or Managed Payments fees.
If you feel you can sell for a more reasonable cost in regard to fees on other sites, you have to do what's best for your business.

That's fine. Good luck in your future endeavours!

Most of the other online Marketplaces, at least the ones that are real contenders, have a payment system similar to Managed Payments where they send the funds directly to your checking account.

Have been an online seller for 20 years & over the years have seen/heard/read this: sellers blame anything & everything on low/no sales...the weather/the time of year, whether they picked their nose that day...blah,blah,blah
Successful online selling is about the product, its uniqueness, quality, supply & demand, target market, price points, etc.
trends change,buyer habits change...
sellers, adapt,adjust,and carry on...
C'est la vie! Que sera, sera!

Could be that people don't have the extra money to spend on things they want.

@kensgiftshop True. Although unemployment has dropped back to prepandemic levels it will take a while for families to feel confident. The new child tax credit (we Canadians called it the Baby Bonus) will be a big help there. Two or three thousand dollars annually per child isn't chicken feed.

The complaints about poor sales started somewhere around October 1995.
Billpoint killed sales. Paypal killed profits. Too many listings when Stores became visible in Search. Categories were too fine tuned. Categories were not accurate enough. Competition from China. High cost of shipping. The race to the bottom in pricing. Dropshipping. Losing Paypal. All buyers are also sellers and all the sellers are leaving. Managed Payments is hard to register for. Buyers hate Managed Payments.

There is another thread on this topic running concurrently which included this interesting information.

Around here, places are having to shut down because they can't get anyone that wants to work.
Went to the store yesterday and what used to cost $50 to $60, cost me $140.00.
I have a feeling things are going to get a lot worse, before they start getting any better,

well maybe in your dreams buddy!...
but no thanks >eBay couldn't pay me enough, nor do I want the abuse...
I'd never, ever want to be connected to eBay in that way...
being a seller on eBay is as far as I venture...

I agree with you 100%!
As a cashier in a grocery store I am seeing prices creep up every day! It's scary !
Gas is going up, and people are being evicted.
Business are slow because no one wants to work. The world is a mess right now!
I myself sell a little here and there for my "fun" money, what little I have right now is being saved.
I have a grandson that needs things and life changes.
I'm just not able to shop for me right now.
Sales are down and I don't see it as ebay fees, or managed payments.
There are so many other factors right now.

exactly! everything has been tripled and so freaking shocked! people wants to buy the stuff for the price the used to get and price of usps shipping cost has gone up. i used to sell many items on Friday Saturday Sunday and Monday morning but i can barely sell 1-2 items.

Truth hurts and always ends with someone being an Ebay employer.

Ebay has made some changes, it’s true, which may (or may not) affect a shopper’s buying habits. Sellers are vulnerable to these changes, of course, but it’s hard to say whether buyers are even aware of them.
My experience differs from yours. Personally, the eBay fees do not seem out of line. For the amount of exposure i get globally, i believe the 12.5% is reasonable. I sell to many different countries so the final value fees do not bother me. They have always been passed along.
My costs are rolled into an item’s price, along with free shipping and returns. Haven't needed to raise prices as my merchandise cost is negligible, so i needn’t compensate for poor selling decisions on the front end.
Btw, took a look at your listings. You are going to have some problems selling jewelry with misspelled gemstone names. For example, Item # 132587110021. The title reads, “Ernestos Extraterrestial Amathyst blue lapiz Ring size 9 3/4”. The stones are amethyst and lapis. And it is extraterrestrial . I see multiple listings with incorrectly spelled keywords.
I know some sellers misspell keywords on purpose, but when selling nice jewelry, a listing needs to show professionalism and inspire confidence in the buyer. This does not.
