Sales Tax

I just sold something to someone in Washington.  It should have been a flat $10 but it was $11.04 with tax.  (I didn't know about the new tax law until I got this sale.  I don't sell much on eBay these days.)  I sent the customer the invoice for $11.04 and got his PayPal payment today for $10.  Should I do anything?  If there is fault, is he at fault for not paying the tax or am I at fault for not collecting?

Sales Tax

EBay is collecting and remitting the tax for you.  That's why you only see $10 in your paypal account.  Several states are now doing this, and more will join in soon I'm sure.

The "full detail" is here in eBay's guidance.  Also note the table lower down that shows when other states will impose a "Facilitator or Marketplace requirement for taxes.
