Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but:
Anyone use a great system to track and pay sales tax to states and countries that aren't collected by ebay? Looking for suggestions. Thanks.

What states and countries are you required to collect for that are not collected by eBay?

If the sale is through eBay, they collect the taxes. You don't have to worry about it.

No need to track that at all. You will be fine if you ignore sales tax procedures. It is eBay's responsibility.

Question - are you (specifically you) required to collect sales tax and submit to the states for which eBay does not already collect? And why are you collecting sales tax (VAT?) for other countries?

VAT is collected for some international sales.

i'm aware of that. Thanks.

eBay charges, collects, and remits sales taxes for every state in the United States which has a sales tax. So far as I know, it also handles VAT in countries which have the tax.
So, if you are in a position with non-eBay sales where you are required to charge, collect, and remit sales taxes and value added taxes you are operating a business complex enough that you should use an accounting service experienced in both domestic and foreign sales and taxations. You will need VAT numbers from the UK, Canada, et al, (at least 170 countries worldwide have a VAT), along with paperwork from the 45 states, D.C. Puerto, and Guam that have a sales tax.
Sounds like a nightmare. Are you sure you will make enough money with such non-eBay sales to make all that worth your while? Or am I missing something?

U.S. sellers do not collect the vat taxes. Ebay collects the sales taxes. It's the buyer's responsibility to pay the customs fees.

Thank you for understanding my question. I've come across two services, so far, that provide that sales tax servicing. I was just wondering how efficient they were and if anyone here used them. If there aren't any good services, we will just go in another direction.
Yes, we were that big at one time, before the internet sales tax were instituted. That was before our ebay store was opened. We only paid to a few states that we were located in but now it's too complex to handle on our own. That's why I was asking.

Again, no need to handle the US state sales taxes on your own. Buyer pays along with item price and shipping. eBay deducted the correct tax and remits it to the appropriate state.
