Good Morning    I am concerned     I have been selling with Ebay since 1998   a Long time.    However,  lately,  there are little to NO sales.     I use to do approx 7 items a week.....Now,  1 item every other week.

IS IT JUST ME...  or IS EVERYONE DOWN ????

IF SO........What do you feel the cause is..???

Kindly jot a line    I  would appreciate it

Re: SALES

This is because there was NO new cars to purchase. Due to covid pandemic. Let's all by electric, hybrid cars which we can all afford.

"I guess we should all be selling car parts"

Re: SALES

I find the summers are a good time to buy.  Less competition in the auctions. This year it is especially good.  As long as sales pick back up again in the fall, I'll be good.

Re: SALES

Covid also caused foreign countries labor, less production for auto parts.  Demand for auto parts is probably at its highest. I'm glad to hear auto parts and supplies are selling well. Especially if those auto parts and supplies are made in the U.S.A.

Re: SALES

I'm tired of coming here for nothing. This can't go on.

I keep reading "oh it's the economy" mantra here — which makes me think there must be something like a selective inflation out there now that only affects eBay buyers: if it was for everybody other sites wouldn't be selling and apparently they are.

Re: SALES

Yes, from my perspective, all platforms are down.
I go to post office and UPS store to drop off packages everyday and I see the outgoing packages are getting less and less everyday.
Even the crowd at the place I go pick up my dinner are very thin and they close early now. I used to have to get in line waiting.

Re: SALES

I agree with others who posted that inflation and the high cost of necessities probably is affecting people's disposable income and their spending priorities, but I think the high shipping fees also are having an effect.  I buy a lot more than I sell on eBay (recently returned from a 4-year assignment overseas and all my stuff was in storage while I was gone) and I've been amazed at how high shipping costs have become.  I used to buy a lot of diecast cars from overseas sellers, now I won't buy from most because the shipping cost is equal to or more than the cost of the item.  With USPS basically forcing everyone to use priority mail for anything over 13 ounces it's high already and the cost of gasoline probably will drive shipping costs even higher.

Re: SALES

Our sales tanked immediately after ebay made changes back in October. Things do not look like they will be improving with the further confusing changes.

Re: SALES

with ebay labels (purchase them here thru ebay), you can use USPS first class &

ship up to 15.9 oz.

At  USPS PO counter that's a  different story.

Re: SALES

maybe they should split eBay into 2 — regular stores with stuff still in production that you apply market rules to and you can be all the amazon and store-lord that you want AND a good ol' eBay for los vencidos de la vida with collectibles and vintage stuff that aren't in the market anymore and we could do whatever we wanted!

Re: SALES

Sanctions,  the sanctions on Russia are causing harm to the food economy in particular.  What most Americans don't understand is American farmers get a lot of their fertilizer from Russia.  Farmers in the US only get about 10%, depending on the type, of their fertilizer from Russia which can easily be augmented since the US is one of the worlds top producers of fertilizer.

People buy things now-a-days with a click on their phone.  Not everyone shops/purchases online. While inflation is impacting everything the rising ecommerce costs and the easing of the pandemic have people returning to B&M stores. Wall street had predicted this trend a year before it started happening.

Re: SALES

do you think this has anything to do with people who had been sellers and stopped  selling and Ebay lost a great deal of people who reinvested their sales money back into Ebay but now left.

Bidens 600 tax reporting income was not exactly a winner.

Many left-

Re: SALES

yes all first class is priced by the maximum weight not by the actual weight.

If you go to the post office you will be charged the actual weight but you will not get tracking.
