IS IT JUST ME... or IS EVERYONE DOWN ????
IF SO........What do you feel the cause is..???
Kindly jot a line I would appreciate it

Hi...Lots of sellers are experiencing slow times, due to high prices at the Gas pumps, high prices for groceries, high mortgages, rents and current world events. High priced everything. These are essentials, so those are my priorities right now like many others. I need a meal and a roof over my head more than I need to buy something I really don't need on Ebay or any site. Hang in there and Happy Selling.

You have cool stuff. For you I think its because people are on vacations. You had 2 years when people took no vacations. People were home for 2 years. Should improve by the holidays.

Higher prices on everything. Started with online taxes and postage increases, and then everything else since.

I think Hobbies and collecting are on hold, in favor of paying the "sky high" electric bill for the A/C in the sweltering heat or the grocery bill that is $200, no matter how measley the items in your cart or the $98 it costs to fill the car at the pump that is double what you were paying 3 months ago.
At least at my house, they are.

Online & retail sales are down right now. Just remember that buyers are watching their pennies right now due to inflation on everything. Keep listing & hang in there!!!
By the way, you have some nice items amongst your listings.
Good luck!

Just today on CNBC. A survey of households with income of $100,000.00 or more. 56% of the respondents indicated they have cut back on discretionary spending due to high gas prices and inflation. If this is the case the percentage has to be a lot higher for those households with lower incomes.
Antiques would definately be in the discretionary category. Antiques for most people are not a need.

But then a person goes to the casino, movie theater, olive garden, Friday night fish fry and guess what ? They are packed full of people pretty much everywhere. So again, why are sales slowing down ? Just a little food for thought.......

Some of it depends on what you are selling, but there are other factors. Several have mentioned the economy and inflation and the reduction in disposable income. However, there are other factors: competition in ecommerce is increasing (diversify), shipping costs are increasing and driving up eBay prices along with the addition of the sales tax, people are returning to B&M stores where they can often find the items cheaper, there is no shipping cost, the take immediate possession, the can examine the item before they actually buy it and returns are much easier.
My eBay sales are slow but several of my other venues are doing pretty good. Mostly the local forums where there is no shipping and the exchange is P2P. I also list the items on the local forums at about 10-15% less than I do on eBay because of the low or no fees on those sites.

As another longtime seller - my experience has been the same as yours for the past six months. Even during the recession of 2007-08 sales were not this bad., so I have a hard time believing that it is only inflation, vacations, or lack of discretionary spending. I strongly believe that eBay has a hand in this - that neither of us are selling the type of items eBay has decided to focus on nor are the type of sellers putting the most dollars in eBay's coffers via the current algorithms. Just as TV advertisers are focusing on younger demographics - eBay is attempting to do the same.
Even a family member who buys and sells parts and tools for his automotive business has found that his eBay business is taking a big hit for the first time this year after 18 years. So with the shortage of automotive parts and how expensive even used cars are, I don't think only antique and collectibles sellers are feeling the pain of eBay change.

20 year consumer electronics seller here. What I'm most concerned about is the amount of time I'm going without any sales or any questions. In the last few months I'll go 12-18 hours without a single sale or question about my listed items. I'll be literally stuck here looking at the computer scratching my head. I haven't seen this in recent memory.
