Revised item

Is it my responsibility or ebay's to notify the buyer of my revised listing. I used "sell one like this"  to post and missed a inappropiate word in listing, received a bid, and then revised immediatly, now 6 days to end of auction., they won auction with one bid. Ebay told me it in there policy that its my job to notify Buyer and would send me email confirming. But never received email from ebay. I beleive its ebays responsibility to notify Buyer of revised item, in which they do. But not Sellers fault at all.

Re: Revised item

I'm guessing you never noticed this on any of your listings, but it is on all listings.

Seller assumes all responsibility for this listing.

That means exactly what it says.   Sorry.

What you need to do now is concentrate on making this right, as another poster said, contact your buyer, who most probably won't want this now.

You're quicker than I am!  And you posted a screen shot, too.  I just copied and pasted.

I'd say great minds think alike, but while that describes you, it doesn't describe me!Smiley Happy

Re: Revised item

If I made a mistake in a listing I would email the buyer and tell them I am ENDING the auction. I do not leave listings out in the world with information that is incorrect or where there might be iffy-ness involved.

99% of bidders would be appreciative of this and re-bid if you've emailed prior and explained the situation. Bidders like knowing what they are bidding on.

Re: Revised item

Well I was on Vacation that week, and really thought EBAY had it covered , revised listing should not be aloud if EBAY is not backing the seller. maybe anything prior to 24 hours , your responsible.

I would have notified the buyer immediately about the revision. The buyer bid before the revision. I would have felt a personal responsibility to inform them by message to make sure they knew. It's that simple. My mistake, I communication with the bidder.

You said you realized buyer was notified, by whom? How do you know? Did the buyer tell you that? No.

Re: Revised item

Revising the listing hopefully advises your future bidders.  You have to advise your current ones.

But as we told you and showed you - YOU are responsible for the accuracy of your own listings.  Own up to it.

Re: Revised item

So why do they have revisions after first bid, IF SELLER HAS TO CONTACT 224 BIDDERS, AND CONTACT BIDDER LAST 30 SECONDS ,OOPS MAYBE LAST 21 SECOND OF REVISION

Re: Revised item

Dude.  With each post you make you're really making it hard for the people who want to help you.  Is there a policy one way or the other?  Probably not.  But in the end you have to take control of your listings and any subsequent changes instead of relying on eBay to do it for you.  Or you can ride this sale out and we'll see you back here in a few weeks complaining when you are forced to pay the shipping back after the buyer opens a SNAD case against you.

Oh and Patrick from eBay probably used to be Jake from State Farm.

Re: Revised item

I don't have live listings while on vacation because I have zero expectation eBay will CMA.
