I normally sell 1-2 items a day.
Today I had 7 orders.
You don't just go from 1 or 2 orders a day to 7 orders.
It's not normal.
It's like somebody turned ON a switch.
I believe ebay is playing tricks and reverse throttling me.
I'm going to contact ebay and ask them what's going on.

You, my friend, are a genius.

Is the summer slowdown such a thing anymore? The summer slowdown seems to have occurred when more people (particularly those with money) were away on vacation and away from their computers or simply doing more outdoor activity. It seemed more prevalent about fifteen years ago when fewer people had smart phones.
However, for me it does slow down a bit when school starts cause people are tapped out from back to school shopping. Clothes and school supplies for a couple of kids can easily run about several hundred dollars and nowadays the shopping list often includes a laptop.

Yes, one of my favorite topics along with "Why don't I have any sales?" and eBay sucks! lol

It's a little after 3:00 AM in Hawaii right now
So I packed up my 7 orders last night.
I also listed a few items.
I just got a sale on one of the items I just listed a few hours ago.
I don't use promoted listings and my customer was somehow able to find my item and buy it even with the broken search engine.
How can that be?
I'm going to pack this last order and ship it this morning along with the other 7 orders.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Algorithms are set up so that sales beget sales. They are also set up to allow certain districts in the country to see items in certain districts, I have no idea how they set up their districts, but I know they do that. A good friend of mine, who recently passed, worked on creating algorithms years ago for Amazon, and I believe they all just followed suit after those first few were set up. She gave me some info that has worked well with one of my Etsy shops...I'm place holding this eBay shop until I get the time to work on it...but here were her suggestions for selling, and like I said, it worked for me on Etsy, my first shop there sold more than 5,000 items in a little more than 4 years...these were vintage, sometimes expensive, one of a kind things...and anyone who knows anything about Etsy knows they hate vintage and don't give it any sort of boost other than what the algorithms allow. First is to list, list, list...that brings you higher in search. Second is to work on your shop every day even if it's just to edit something. Third is to run sales, and the more followers you get the better that works. (I will list something on Monday morning and it often sells by Monday evening on Etsy because I have a couple thousand followers who get notice of something new being listed. I don't know how eBay does that but I'm sure it's something similar) Fourth was to advertise with the site you're on. (I do ads on Etsy and piddle with them during the day, raising my spend amount then lowering it after I have a certain number of sales.)
Five is to put some of your listings as multiples and with others list them separately. (that's part of your sales beget sales)
There were a couple of other things she told me to always do, but those were the most important. So I'd say that something in those algorithm settings probably kicked in for you. But for the life of me I can't understand why you'd "contact" eBay to complain about getting sales. Just enjoy that extra money and head to the grocery store or your favorite resale shop.

Contacting Ebay is useless. The staff there reads from scripts. Ebay management knows what they are doing. I too will have no sales and then suddenly I get 4 to 5 sales and of course, all will go to the West coast. I live on the east coast.

they are throttling (or shadow banning) me to give you those extra sales. I am on "time away" and have not had any sales. I nearly always have buyers contact me to purchase things when I am on time away. I can "reply with offer" and make sales. Now only getting sales when I end time away. I will report this/tell everyone I know,....................... that eBay is unfair to me. (input sarcasm emoji of your choice here)

I'm sorry, but sometimes the sarcasm at the expense of others gets to be a little much.

You know that something else is amiss.
You are again failing to use your sarcasm emoji.
You amuse those of us that know you but causing others to go into dissertations to explain the reasoning causing your nonexistent problem. 😂

I need some of that. Seems like sells slowed to almost to a halt after we had to have a negative feedback removed due to someone complaining about us using USPS. Hopefully it's a coincidence.
