Retracting a Bid

I am trying to retract a bid for an item. I simply did not see that the item was only available for pickup. I have tried to contact the seller, and the seller has been unresponsive. There is currently more than 12 hours left for the auction. How do I retract my bid?

Re: Retracting a Bid

I believe it is too late now. You will just get dinged for non-payment, if this is your first time it will mean nothing. It was probably destined to happen to the seller anyway as most buyers / bidders don't read the part about pickup only.

Re: Retracting a Bid

How much time was remaining when you FIRST tried to contact the seller to cancel the bid?

With less than 24 hours remaining it's too late for you to cancel your bid.

As @onefootflipper1 said, just take the non-payment strike.

Don't worry, it's just a virtual slap on the wrist provided it doesn't happen too often.

You can go to this page and click the big blue button

https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/bidding/retracting-bid?id=4013

Bid retraction restrictions kick in when there is less than 12 hours remaining in the listing although it's still possible up until the last hour.

Re: Retracting a Bid

That is not one of the allowed reasons to retract your bid.

OP states at the time of posting that there's more than 12 hours remaining.

"If this is your first time it will mean nothing."

Unless it happens again within 12 months.
