The GTC rule messed up how I was listing. So I decided to open a second store for all the items I used to rotate in my first one. Can not believe the restrictions they have on new stores. Paid for a store expecting to list 250 fixed and 250 auction. That would have come pretty close to cleaning up my extra inventory. I found out they count items, not listings so I had to go in to change most items to single inventory so I could list more and they capped me at 250 items. So here I sit waiting for a sale to prove myself and get Ebay to let me utilize all the listings that I have paid for. Quite annoying. I have been doing this for 20 years and have a good rating in my klynnk1 account. Treating my like a newbie is a bit insulting. I may need to just take a hit on everything to get this moving.

One of the few times I have ever called eBay customer service I did so to get restrictions lifted on additional accounts I opened. They linked them to my original account and I had no problem.

I talked to three different people at Ebay and they all said the same thing. We can't use your other account and good standing to influence this one. I think that's Bull**bleep** but they aren't budging. Did you have to ask for a supervisor to get the restrictions lifted? I guess I will try calling again and ask them if they can link mine ... or whatever. Just give me what I am paying for and let me sell.

Hmm, it's unusual to get 3 customer service reps who agree AND are wrong. But the policy clearly states
If you have more than one seller account, you may also be able to raise your limits by linking to your other, more established seller account. If your accounts can be linked, you'll see that option when you select Request higher selling limits in the Monthly selling limits section of My eBay's All Selling view.

The only thing I can think of is if there's something about the status of your older account that makes it not add to your credibility.

I've used the GSP for years and prefer it to constantly having to relist. I do monitor my About to Close items on my Active List in case there is something that needs tweaking.
That being said, I opened a new ID to sell a new product line that didn't make sense on any of my other IDs. This will be my fifth active selling ID.
I knew I would be restricted at first. I only was allowed 10 items or (I think) $500 value.
After 30 days, I phoned, asked for those restrictions to be eased and the number of listings to be raised to 50 so I could use the Fifty Free.
She raised it to 450 or several thousand dollars value.
I'm sticking to the Fifty Free for the moment.
Until I am ready to list at least 500 *Items, I won't open a Basic Store which only makes sense if I have at least 100 items ready to go.
*You know about the Canadian Bonus, right?

They can link your accounts and it will immediately raise your selling limits. Any rep should be able to do this.
Or - you can wait it out and list a bit and build up the second account separately.

They weren't able to link my stores for some reason. The person I got was new and had not done it before. But she did raise my limit so at least I will now get the full 500 listings. Once I start selling out of the new store it will all work out to get any other restrictions lifted. At least now I can sell - restricting me to half of what I paid for, that was my main issue and that got fixed.
