Hello,
So I've been restricted forever from ebay indefinite and i dont know for what since i had 100% feedback good buying and selling reviews. My mom on the other hand has had her ebay account and used it here and there to sell stuff, her account got restricted when she came to visit for the day, is this because she logged into my wifi using her OWN device? We hadn't seen eachother in years and ebay pings her that there a "linked" account which my ebay store came up. What can she do about this? This is unbelievable to be honest, and when she reached out to ebay they were super rude to her and told her "ebay doesn't want sellers" like yourself that have violated ebay?? When she showed me, has 96% overall great selling and buying and ebay doesnt even allow her to explain her situation, ebay has to do way better than this. Can anyone shed some light on this please , thank you.

Don't expect much... you're in a dark, dark place. I've not heard of any seller with a lifetime ban get reinstated. And, yes... eBay has the power to take down any accounts that used the same IP address. Heck, I hate it for your mom, too. Dang.

Yep! If either one of your accounts was linked to an account that has been suspended eBay automatically suspends them. Thus by signing in from the same IP address if you were suspended, so too is she.

Since you are restricted and your mom signed on and it was linked to your IP, she got restricted also.
eBay restricts one account on an IP address and all get restricted.
This keeps people from just opening many new account after being restricted.
IF she got restricted because you and she was on the same IP address, the only thing I can suggest is you contact eBay and clear up your account.
Usually restricted accounts cant be "opened" and posting here so was it another account you had that was indefinitely restricted?

Hello, yea she did the mistake which i never thought anything of it because we are not scammers and I;ve never had an issue buying or selling on ebay ever. She showed me something she bought and her phone connected to my wifi, unfortunately. & as far as my account been restricted indefinite, I still dont know why and and the few times i tried to clear my story out when they asked for invoices i had a legitimate explanation but even that I never had the chance to straighten anything out with them. Now its a bit of annoying that moms haas nothing at all to do with my ebay or anything I do and she was tied to me.

Hello,
Thank you for the quick turn around. Is there anything that can be done? As far as mine i can accept it thats its gone for whatever reason which to date I dont know why. But man, my moms account, that really bothers me and that's why I'm here to see if theres anything that can be done. Thank you again.

I don't believe so.

I have not seen to many sellers with a 96% rating. 96% is not a great overall rating.

The only way to have a new account would be to have a new IP address, new credit card number and with Managed Payments probably a new bank account as well. Everything would have to be different from before.
It's unlikely you can get the account un-suspended. I succeeded once but that was over 10 years ago.

How dear??
how block all accounts that login from same IP
let's say a hospital's wifi a bank wifi a big corporation wifi
if any employer at any of these places gets suspended all these thousands of employers connected to the same IP will get suspended? like this eBay will have to suspend the whole planet

I'm guessing this was on the phone. If she had used social media, there would be a transcript.
I'm also guessing that the clerk was not the first one who was rude.
When she showed me, has 96% overall
96% is pretty bad.
Unless she has well under 100 sales, because of ratios.
And getting negative feedback often means there are other problems. EBay does not use FB to assess accounts since so few transactions get any FB, and it is an opinion in any case.
We don't see how many of her customers filed, and won, disputes or complaints.

If one account using that WIFI gets suspended, any other account that logs in using it, will also be suspended.

It's been known.
Hospitals are not likely to be selling anything on eBay, and most large corporations would have their own site.
But.
An employee of a small business connects to the company wifi to run their own eBay business, even legitimately at coffee break, and takes down the whole company's account.
More often, someone runs a sketchey eBay account from their university residence, and any other eBay sellers also get restricted.

They ban you by Name , Address and Social Security Number .
