Reselling an item

I see you've sold one item, and never shipped it.  This is not a recommended method for reselling an item.  I mean, anyone can "resell an item."  It's the actual shipping of the item that matters.

@jd-9476 ,

What do you mean by reselling item? Do you mean relisting item you never shipped? Why did you not ship the thermometer? Were you not happy with the bids you hot? Was the shipping higher than you expected?

If I were a buyer I would stay away from sellers that don’t hold up their end of the bargain.

You sell.

You get paid.

For new sellers, eBay puts a Hold on the payment against your performance

You can buy a shipping label from the Held funds.

This also speeds up the end of the Hold.

You ship.

The buyer is happy.

After 21-30 days your payment is released.

As time goes on the Hold will disappear, again, depending on your performance.

Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode about holding/reserving the rental car.  😉

Was that before or after the puffy shirt episode? 🤔

Season 3, episode 11, before the Puffy Shirt.

@hartungcards

Yes, feedback states they didn't.  My guess is that person didn't like the price they got so they didn't ship it.  I've had that happen to me a few times.  Seller wasn't happy with the final outcome so they didn't ship it to me.

You are so wrong. After having been scammed by my first sale customer I listed one item(thermometer). Life took a downward turn and I forgot I had listed anything else. I was busy with my husband being diagnosed with Glioblastoma (the most aggressive form of brain cancer). We had only been married 3 months when he was diagnosed.
I contacted the buyer as soon as I saw what had happened. I apologized and explained. She was still wanting to purchase it but I was trying to make sure SHE was the one that got it.

So I’m really NOT the village idiot just a very overwhelmed 76 year old .

Hello,

I do hope your days get better and sorry that you are going through what you are. I can promise you no one thought you were a village idiot.

I don't believe anyone was picking on you or anything. Folks here try to help but they were confused at the post as it did not give a lot of information. So everyone probably started trying to help or find out what the problem could have been.

Did your problem get resolved? The post header simply said Reselling an item and then you didn't enter the context (maybe you hit enter too fast... it happens....) Let us know we can contribute.

Take care.

Congratulations on your recent marriage and my heart goes out to you with the massive illness you and your husband will be battling.

I respect that you may not be in the best mind to come here and try to figure out what to do with certain situations regarding selling.  But PLEASE remember YOU started this thread and the entire bit of information you gave us was "Reselling an item".  From that you seem to have wanted us to know what you were talking about and what happened to you.  As you know, there is no way for us to know any of that unless you share it with us.

So yes some of us were guessing at what it was that you were looking for.  What else did you expect us to do if you didn't want to take the time to tell us what the actual problem was or is.

You should be able to tell from the Order records if you are talking with the same buyer that purchased the time.  The User IDs would be the same.

❤️
