A customer asked for a return thru ebay and I sent the label thru eBay, how do you know the tracking number of the return?

So glad that your buyer did the right thing! And happy you learned the right way to handle this later. Good work!

Thank you, but I will still handle things the way I do now. As soon as the customer ships the item, I will issue the refund, they don't have to wait for me to receive it, damaged or not, I am done with that item, and will issue a refund, Iam talking items worth less than $100.

Oh, that's interesting...
Clearly the item has been routinely scanned all along the way from beginning to end, but it did not start with an Acceptance scan (i.e. an entry actually containing the word "Acceptance"). Instead, it shows "USPS picked up item" (apparently the buyer arranged a carrier pickup), which eBay did not recognize, possibly because the phrase "picked up" is not unique to an Acceptance scan. "Picked up" is also seen in your Delivered entry (twice, in fact), so eBay can't use that to signify Acceptance of a return package.
It looks like the process only works properly if they see "Acceptance," but in this case they didn't get it. I'm glad it all ended well regardless.
