Question about a removed listing

Hi, I'm new to this online selling scene and have already come across a scammer. Didn't get scammed they just gave me the 'text me via this number, I have questions' line. Not even gonna bother responding but I have run into another issue that is concerning. I recently received this message from eBay (slightly edited for privacy)

"Hello espero,

We had to cancel bids and purchases on the following item(s) for the buyer, because they were made without the account owner's permission:
Nike Men's Jordan Flight Legend Shoe

Please note that we're working with the account owner to prevent any additional unauthorized activity.

All associated fees have been credited to your account. In these situations, we'll credit the final value fee for removed listings won by this buyer, and also the insertion fee if it was a single-quantity listing.

- We have credited any associated fees to your account."

What do I do? Is this something that I can simply ignore and try to sell again? When I go to sold items it has those shoes listed as sold still, can I cancel the order? Thank you in advance.

Question about a removed listing

It's gone so go ahead and relist it.  If you click on that item in your sold list, it says that it can't be found.

Question about a removed listing

At the bottom of this page (and many others) you will see a link to the VeRO program.

This allows brand name owners to restrict who can sell their products.

It sounds as if, while your customer was a scammer, and good for you noticing and acting correctly, you will not be able to sell those shoes here, because you do not have permission from the brand.

We had to cancel bids and purchases on the following item... because they were made without the account owner's permission:

It's pretty convoluted wording though.  Hard to tell if the "account owner" was you or the brand.

I'd contact customer relations (NOT by phone, trust me) and ask if you can relist.

Question about a removed listing

Sounds to me like the BUYER used a stolen or unauthorized CC and that's why the listing was taken down.

Nothing to do with the seller or what they are selling.

Could have been worded better, though .... but the OP got the fees back.

Question about a removed listing

@femmefan1946

If this was VERO shouldn't the listing be deleted completely? Seller can still see the listing as sold.

It reads like a hacked account that was used to make bids- or the account owner contacted eBay and claimed they didn't make the bids.

@espero17354  Did you get an email saying the listing was removed for VERO ?
