Question about Promotion on Auctions

There is the ad that pops up at the end of listing to promote an auction item, for instance $1.99.

Is that ALL the money they will take from that listing or are they taking more unaware to me??  lol

And if you agree, whether that item sells or not, you are out $1.99 (or whatever amount) right?
And each time you resist the auction, and choose to promote, at $1.99, that is $3.98 spent on promotion now, right?

THANKS!! ^_^

Yes, you pay the rate whether the item sells or not. You also have to pay the regular final value fees - that fixed promoted fee is just the ad rate.

Question about Promotion on Auctions

Looks like you've been doing this awhile so if you're good with auctions do your thing.  But ive done soooo much better since switching to fixed price.  Not many things are so rare there aren't comparable items.

And yup, that $1.99 lasts the duration of the auction whether your item sells or not.

One thing I rarely see mentioned, so just want to add this. The amount ebay shows you declines as the auction wears on.....

Question about Promotion on Auctions

In reference to promote the listing...  It appears that my new listing is basically being ghosted due to the fact that I did not check the Promote your Listing box.  I do a general 'all catergory' search for Antique Clocks in the morning and the new listing auctions that appear will be anthing from a vintage digital clock, a pine cone weight, and a Betty Boop clock.  My Chelsea Ship's Bell Banjo Clock is no where to be found on this general category search...  so is this what I should expect by not paying to promote my listing?  Of course, it shows up if I type in 'banjo clock' or Chelsea, but that's it.  I guess the final value fees + fees on shipping cost just isn't enough..
