The more I read here the more confused I am about how things work.

When creating a listing....at the end you see "sell it faster" and you can promote and choose the % you want to pay for the ad. What is the difference between that and being charged per click?  I was reading a post earlier that they were being charged per click.

Would appreciate it if someone one could tell me the difference. I read through the help pages but couln't find the per click charge.

I have not seen the pay per click option anywhere, although there is information about it.  I guess it could be that it is an option not available to me but might be to another seller?  If you are asking about what you see when creating a listing, it should show exactly how much you will be charged if you use the promoted listing and your item sells within thirty days of a buyer clicking on the ad.

Paying per click means you  pay a set amount everytime someone looks at the item........whether it sells or not.

What ebay offers is paying an extra FVF  IF the item sells from the promoted listing......

I haven't seen any pay per click offer, but there could be one.........

Thank you! Just to be clear, all I'm paying is the additional FVF % that I  select?

The other post made me think that was one in the same, and we were charged per click.

I asked the exact same question yesterday.  I did decide to promote a couple.  Not charged per click but then again I have only had one click. scream My listings are ranked higher than the promo and only one click on the promo and 17 - 30 on the others .... promo not making me happy at this point.  Just thought I would try it and not impressed.

I haven't sold anything in the past on promotion, but so desperate to make a sale thought I would try again.

Haven't sold anything since Thursday, $9.99 item Smiley Sad  Always afraid I won't make enough to pay my store fees. Will have to give this up at some point.

Ebay bugged me and bugged me about using the promo listings till I got sick and tired of it of them nagging me about it. Like the 10 or 12 spam emails they send me every day isn't enough.

Here's my experience. I picked three moderately priced items from my inventory. The three items
were things I have from 30 to 50 of each in my inventory. When I see these three items getting low in quanity I seek out more to buy so they are a regular but not daily selling item.

The selling price, Or my listed buy it now price is $5.99 each. Free shipping in a plain #10 envelope with a forever stamp.

I blipped the promo %% on the three items until my cost for a sale would be 50 cents over and above my normal cost of making a sale. I'd be happy to sell 10 or 20 of these and offer the buyer a 50 cents discount per item. Or more.

I'd be really, really happy.

Crickets, Nothing, waste of time, waste of brain cells, wondering what all the hoopla is about.

Using ebays Promo thing, which they are all hot and bothered about and constantly harping about and now they are trying to blackmail long time small sellers into paying extra for services we should already be getting for me, was a waste of time.

I sold nothin
It cost me nothin
It earned ebay nothin

I didn't go whole hog and I'm not going to. I'll burn my inventory before I pay more FVFs

I just found this article on ecommercebytes.  I think that it might explain the "pay per click" option.
