Promoted Listings

Can anybody share with me a scenerio that would show a Promoted Listing making any sence.

I just don't see it.

The fee is ASTRONOMICAL....am I right or am I wrong....right right right right.

thanks,

Ned Ryerson

1.  You get an allowance if you own a store ... therefore, up to a certain point for store owners, promoted listings are free.

2.  For very highly competitive items, it gets your items more frequently toward the top of search.  Items that never sold, suddenly sell.

3.  You only pay if it sells.

I called ebay yesterday about promotions, because I read here I should be getting $30 per qtr.  I have a premium store, and ebay said "no".  That was a promo they offered a while ago, but no free promo for premium store.

Are you a top rated seller? TRS with a US registration address get $30 per quarter towards promoted listings. You're charged as the fees occur & the next month you receive fee credits for the previous month.

  • ✓ Top Rated Sellers are eligible to receive a $30 credit each quarter**
  • ✓ Anchor Store subscribers are eligible to receive a $25 credit each quarter**
  • ✓ If you're both a Top Rated Seller and an Anchor Store subscriber, you're eligible to receive the both quarterly credits, totaling $55

My mistake.  It is TRS that gets the $30.

Re: Promoted Listings

what exactly does promoted listings do?

Every time I see them they are at the bottom of the page AFTER the original listing... it gives you two listings for one item but is it supposed to help in best match? Search placement?  Does it help in a more generic search where your item may be 103rd out  of 10,000 and it throws the promoted listing on the first page?

inquiring minds....

There was never yet an uninteresting life. Such a thing is an impossibility. Inside of the dullest exterior there is a drama, a comedy and a tragedy.

Yes, thank you, I am a TRS.  Funny...more misinformation. I called ebay to ask, and he said "no" that was an old promotion they ran. I questioned him, and told him I read it on the message board that I should be getting $30 each qtr. He said let me check into it and I'll call you back. He called me back a few hours later, and the answer was still "no"

Thank you!

Re: Promoted Listings

I skip past "sponsored" items too. Though its become less and less of an option to do so lately.
In fact, my searches are more compromised than than they are accurate to my filtering attempts.

Re: Promoted Listings

Maybe it works to get buyers to browse your store and other listings. Just hope they don't purchase the promoted item 'cause you will pay the higher fee.
