I've been using a wide range of promo % in the past few months. I'm trying to get an idea of the sales convestion impact for the different %s.
From the stats pulled ....there is no corellation between what % is chosen (whether its 1%, 2%, 5%, 10%, or 20%). What does matter is that the item is promoted (at least 1% is chosen). So it seems to be either promoted or not (with the % selected not really making a difference).
Has anyone noticed the same?
I'm thinking the ebay analog to prioritized based on % selected is not running yet....Any thought from you guys would be appreciated.

As a buyer, the bribe add rate percebntage makes no difference at all. I skip right by them all equally ... all sponsored or promoted listings or any other listing that tries to reach out of the screen and grab my shirt and shake me. I don't like listings that try to game the system.

I'm wondering if this "cleans" the search? Say I have a sort of unique type of item I want to list for 20.00 plus 5.95 shipping. It's vintage and used. So I search for value and find 20.00 is a fair price (low but not lowest asking price).
If I pay 1% for a promo fee.... 2 cents - does that get the 500 items that have nothing to do with my described item out of the way? Or, did others pay such a hansome promo fee (regardless if their item is remotely in the right cat) that their multiple items are still pushing my item to the last page even if it's the best match??

Yes it does. It is how much you will pay extra on top of 10% fees, for nothing.

What have you found?
For me, it made NO difference. I have resolved myself to realizing that dicey ebay listing exposure is one of those "death and taxes" things. It's just a given.
