Promote or not promote?

Have never promoted any of my listings.

Do the promoted listings show up in searches more frequently? Does promoting really increase the sales? If so, do you raise your prices or absorb the promotion fee by the volume of sold items?

For what you sell, promotions probably not worth it. Your items are too "1 of" and "random". 

Promotions are good for those selling Blue Jump Ropes where 5000 other people are also selling 'Blue Jump Ropes' and to simply be sure your item is on the top of the 1st page (for Best Match).
