Did you mean:

Promote my listing.

Funny, but I thought listing on EBay was promoting my item. I used to go to the club flea market once or twice a year to sell my extra hobby items but eBay provided more buyers. Now, you want me to pay $0.99 to promote an item I list for $0.99. My items were never in the dark before. I never needed to shine a light on them before. Free listing does not mean free listing anymore. I thought your 10% charge was your fee but apparently I was wrong. SAD.

My initial thought on promoting a listing was negative. Last week, though, a thought popped into my mind.

My business model is the e-Bay selling of items I have failed to vend in my store. For what I refer to as junk DVDs. if they did not move for $5.79, which profited me 44 cents, I gave the titles to whomever had a desire. Beginning in Aug., I will take a month to promote at 7%. If I am successful, I will have a return of my investment. If, though, promotion has zero effect, I will know and never wonder "what if."

And THAT  is the way to do it.  Trial it & see what you think.   I was totally against PL's, for a different reason that OP, but I sure changed my tune after I trialed it for awhile.

Promote my listing.

List your items for more than $0.99.

You might come out ahead.  Might....

Otherwise, be an eBay slave.
