Promote listings

I am confused with eBay and all the junk they keep doing. They want me to promote my listing for $2.99 and my item is only $2.95 and if I sell they take 30 cents plus 14.4%,also they take the postage and add it into the total which I don't get anything from postage. If I do all they want where is the the profit for me? Also if it don't sell I think I might as well give or throw it away. Frustrated!!!

Re: Promote listings

Promoted listings are not for everyone or every item. EBay makes promoted listings available for everyone and leave it to the seller to evaluate. Do you really think they do the math on every item?

Re: Promote listings

Promoted Listings are an OPTION, and sellers are not required to use them...it is a CHOICE> use or not

Re: Promote listings

You did not need to go any further than they charge you $2.99 yet your item is $2.95 which means you are already .04 in the hole. No need to do any additional figuring to know you are losing money. It is obvious promoting is not beneficial on such a low valued item.

Re: Promote listings

You don't need to get frustrated, you are getting a generic Promoted Listing Ebaybot suggestion, nothing personal.

They do want you to promote so they will make more $ of your items but still, it is your decision.

If you have one of a kind items you do not no need to promote, they will be found.

If you have popular items sold by many sellers, you will need to promote or your listings will be buried down, The sellers who can afford to pay the most to promote will be seen and sold.

Re: Promote listings

A fast look. You are getting them low price items for free I hope, as I see no way you can be making enough to bother with such selling on eBay, paying taxes etc....
