Problem With Paypal Recording Transactions...Anyone Else Experiencing This Sort of Thing?

Ebay deducts its fees from my Paypal account on the 15th of each month. Last night, when I checked my ebay account, I verifed that they had gotten their fees (this was about 5 pm). However, Paypal did not log the transaction (nor had it deducted the fees from my paypal balance). I checked my paypal account periodically throughout the night, and by the time I went to bed shortly after midnight, the transaction had still not shown up in Paypal. When I woke up this morning, I checked my Paypal account, and finally the transaction was logged and my balance deducted appropriately (but the transaction was dated May 16, 6:01 am, 13 hours after ebay had posted that they had collected their fees). Then something else happened: it so happened that I had to ship something this morning, so I paid for the shipping label via ebay (6.25 for small flat rate). After printing the label, I went to my paypal account to see if the transaction was logged, and it wasn't, nor had my balance been deducted the 6.25.

Okay, it was about 10 am at that point, and I decided to call paypal once I got back from running errands (one of which was a trip to the post office). Meanwhile, while I was out, someone purchased one of the items I have listed (on my selling account). When I got home I checked my paypal account, and the deposit transaction for the purpose was there, and the amount had been added to my balance. However, still no transaction logged for the shipping label that I had purchased a couple of hours earlier! So, my last two paypal transactions were (and still are) the extremely late ebay fee transaction, and the deposit transaction for the item that I sold.

I called paypal, and after some checking with his supervisors, he told me that this is a problem that paypal is working on. It's not affecting everyone, but it's affecting more ppl than just me.

It's 1 0 pm as I write this, and still the shipping label transaction has not shown up yet, nor has my balance had the 6.25 deducted for the payment (nearly 12 hours after I paid for the label and printed it out).

Is anyone else here experiencing this sort of delay problem with paypal?

How is this a delay a "problem"?

PayPal process about 5,000,000 transactions per day, when a batch fails to be posted correctly it takes a bit of time to fix.

I'm not talking about a simple delay:

10 am I purchase shipping label...the transaction is not recorded nor is the amount deducted.

At 1 pm, a buyer purchases an item...the paypal depost is recorded and my balance is increased.

In all my dealings with Paypal, the transactions have always been recorded sequentially, in the order that they occurred. In other words the shipping label transaction should have been recorded before the item deposit. It wasn't, and it still is not recorded. I don't know about you, but I've been dealing with paypal since 2001, and this has never happened before. I have to ship something tomorrow. Hopefully the shipping label transaction that I did this morning will be  recorded by tomorrow morning. If it isn't I'll call paypal again and pay for the postage at the post office.

Why would you pay for it t the PO? You've already paid for it when you created the label, regardless of whether the actual transaction is showing or not.

A simple delay is exactly what you are talking about.

Your incoming payments are showing up as they should that`s really the only thing that matters. PayPal will eventually debit your account for the eBay charges and for the postage.

In the meantime the postage label you printed is perfectly good so use it.

Yes, that would be idiotic, especially since I've already shipped that item with that label.

I havre another item that I have to ship on Saturday, one that a buyer purchased on Friday at around 1 pm. I have not paid postage for that item yet. This other item that a buyer purchased on Friday did show up as a deposit transaction in my paypal account, and my balance was increased appropriately. I'm leery of purchasing another label via ebay because the previous label that I purchased hasn't even shown up yet as a paypal transaction.

In my Paypal account, to simplify:

Latest transaction: buyer purchases item, paypal balance is increased appropritately.

Transaction recorded before that: ebay fee payment, balance deducted appropritately

There should be a shipping label purchase transaction between those two (for the label that I paid for and printed out for the item I shipped on Friday), and there isn't a transaction, nor was my balance deducted for the shipping amount.

This is why I'm leery of buying another shipping label via ebay, because the last one I purchased still hasn't shown up as a transaction.

A few months ago I purchased five labels through ebay but PP was having a glitch.  The labels were fine but it took 2 weeks for the money for the labels to be deducted from PP.  There was a thread on here somewhere about it.
