Preparing future listings

Can someone confirm that the "select start time" works such that if I am selecting tomorrow as a start time and preparing auctions today, that those auctions will automatically fall under the free auction promo. I've timed things many times (wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep), but don't recall ever pre-preparing listings to start at a later time to hit a promo period.

If the listing actually starts during the offer period, it doesn't matter whether it was launched manually or by the Scheduler.

The BIG problem is that Ebay charges an extra fee for each delayed listing when it is actually listed. That mounts up fast. If you do this often it is better to use an outside listing source that will allow you to make listings, hold them and list when you want for no extra charges. Remember ebay's whole goal is to make fees.

Only store owners get hit with a scheduling fee.

But, yes, if the listing goes live during the promo period, it is part of the promo.

Not a store owner and have never had a charge for scheduling.

Can someone tell me why store owners don't get this very helpful tool? What is it about having a store that makes this unavailable?

Scheduler is available for Stores, but they have to pay a fee of 10 cents if the scheduler option actually launches the listing.

A few years ago, everybody had to pay to use the Scheduler.  Then during some unpopular fee system revision, ebay decided to compensate the non-store sellers by giving them the Scheduler option for free.  Also adding a 'Buy it now" on an auction became free for non-stores at that time.

Beats me, it just seems like another ridiculous eBay random fee, to me.

It's available, you just pay 10¢ a listing.  I'm guessing they are thinking about Fixed Price listings with Stores (it's not really important when your Fixed Price listing starts or ends, normally), and don't see any need.

I sell nothing but Auctions, and sometimes have a Store sometimes not... Start time (and therefore End Time) is important.

I'd read the fine print carefully.  The listings will start as scheduled, and you do get the deal when you use it (whatever deal is being offered).  However, you might have to have "activated" the deal prior to creating the listing, not just prior to the listing having launched.

I assume you're using the 500 Free Listing deal that starts 12/4.  I just used a different deal, the 50% off FVF deal that ended 12/3.  On that deal, this was in the terms:

The Promotion excludes listings created prior to activating the offer and listings with a start date prior to, or after the Promotion Period.

So I had to make sure to activate the offer before creating my listings and putting them into the scheduler.

Best I can tell everything worked correctly. I set one item to list at 6am and the promo counter shows I've listed 1 and have 499 left. And looking at my account under Fees, the only fees I see are the FVF on the things that have sold since Dec. 1st.
