Posts lacking info.. Aka: selling tips

Why do we see so many posts showing clothing for sale without measurements or size charts? We all know a size can vary greatly between products.

This makes me pass on those items and I’m sure others do as well.

Many of the pictures are also poor angles. The primary picture should show the whole item. Example: if you’re selling a dress, don’t make the first shot of the price tag.

I've always included measurements but....

.... sometimes I'm not so sure that this isn't costing me $ in size returns.

1. Buyers often don't read measurements

2. When an item doesn't fit (because in part the person didn't read the measurements or know their own measurements) the buyer wants to return it

3.  Some buyers are disappointed to discover that if they select WRONG SIZE/DOESN'T FIT, they're on the hook for return postage.

4. Some of these buyers go hmmmmmm.....the seller provided measurements. I'll just say the measurements were incorrect. The waist is 3" smaller or the inseam is 2" shorter or something and return is as NOT AS DESCRIBED so the seller pays the return postage.

Most of my buyers who return things are honest.  But 100% of the buyers who've returned something as SNAD for fit, has lied and said my measurements were incorrect.  Sellers have absolutely zero defense against this complaint.  If they want the item back, they have to pay for return postage.  When it returns, I remeasure it.  Not one single time have my original measurements been wrong.  Not once!

If I hadn't provided measurements they wouldn't have had this avenue available to them.

Just a thought.

Its likely because a lot of sellers are tired of wasting all their time making listings so ebay can take all their visibility away and charge them fees for nothing. I'm starting to dumb down my own listings so I can save my valuable time for something else. The fact is, there's zero incentive to make an effort here anymore.

Here we spend all this time making listings, then when buyers come along  ebay tells them not to buy from us and sends them to another seller. Its a pointless pursuit. I make a listing for a game for instance, then ebay shows the buyer 50 other sellers offering the same identical game. Yet I'm supposed to care how wonderful my listing is?

Welcome to ebay 2.0, a giant dollar store where everything is pennies on the dollar. What's the point of making and effort when ebay forces us to give everything away for free. Seriously starting not to care. ebay apparently doesn't care either.
