Postage for variations

I have some Gaming Consoles listed and games for the consoles (I listed item and games as variations)

I based the shipping on the console but can I have a separate shipping for the games (as obviously they are much smaller and can be mailed as Media Mail)?

Thanks

Sending these as media mail is fraud and I hope you get caught

Re: Postage for variations

No, but the workaround is to make shipping free and add the shipping into each item variation price.

Actually is probably would be better to have one listing for the consoles, and another one for the games.

Re: Postage for variations

I would definitely list the console and the games separately, since there is a separate category for consoles and one for games.

Re: Postage for variations

Video games do not qualify for Media Mail. See link below.

https://pe.usps.com/text/csr/ps-334.htm#:~:text=In%20conclusion%2C%20video%20games%2C%20whether,the%....

“In conclusion, video games, whether on CD-ROM, diskettes, or similar software, regardless of form, or playable systems including computers, do not meet the standards for Media Mail.”

Re: Postage for variations

You get busted shipping games with media mail, the postal service will give you one warning, after that you'll get slapped with a massive fine! Do it again after that, expect a knock on your door, mail fraud is a federal crime.

Please be serious.  The USPS isn’t going to anyone’s house unless shipping hundreds or thousands of items that don’t qualify for MM.

Wow amazing how some people respond to posts not with advise but spitting venom. But maybe not so amazing this day and age

I assumed that the software could be shipped as media mail, I was mistaken but thank you for the polite reminder that we are sometimes we are wrong.

And thanks to the other humans and their constructive suggestions regarding my question.

Re: Postage for variations

If you're going to do variations, do the consoles and games as separate listings.

But also decide if variations are the way to go. Personally I'm not a fan. And would just do a listing for each game or console. It becomes a bit of a mess if you don't clean it up now and then. Or it's not alphabetical or something else that makes it bothersome to look through.
