A nice change of pace. I automatically leave positive feedback as soon as the buyer pays, but I've never gotten positive feedback as a seller before seeing the order on my dashboard, until today. It's a super funny comment, nothing to do with me at all, but it still made me smile. With all the grumbling about buyers it's nice to see such a happy camper in my feedback.

Your recent positive feedback is an interesting read, to be sure. As an old, crusty, paranoid seller, I prefer my buyers to wait until they've actually -received- the item they have purchased, just to ensure there are no issues with packaging failures, carrier delivery failures, or the buyer (as with Leonard & Sheldon & the gang) finding out that what they ordered, altho properly described and imaged, it not exactly as they thought (for the Big Bang guys, it was a matter of scale).
It would indeed be a wonderful thing if buyers were as positive about the outcome of a purchase, pre-shipment, before even receiving the item they bought. Of course, if that became more common, eBay would have to allow buyers to change their positive feedback should they feel, upon receipt of the item purchased, that the feedback no longer applies. And probably further restrict the ability of the seller (you) to respond to that feedback, let alone leave anything negative or neutral, like removing the option to reply to feedback if the buyer left it before you even shipped it, even if they did subsequently change it.
It is indeed nice when your buyers can behave like reasonable adults. It just scares me when they grow up so fast...

I wanted to see their funny comment but the most recent feedback isn't from today; it's from Dec. 11 (the Calico Critters). I'm confused. -Were you maybe looking at your feedback sorted by 'relevant' instead of 'recent'?

I think it's the feedback for the Nicole Miller reading glasses that sold today (Jan. 6).

I've had similar things happen many times over the years. It always amazes me, but sometimes I guess they do it because that is just the way they prefer to handle things. it is just an over zealous buyer and in time and with more experience, they will likely wait a bit longer before posting feedback. But I'm glad you were able to smile about what they wrote. That is a very good thing.

I see those in her Solds history, but as for feedback, when sorted by Recent this is what I see:

It's the Nicole Miller one, in ALL CAPS. It's a funny feedback, I hope the glasses change the buyer's life in all the ways he/she hopes it does. I've never had that happen with any account in 28 years.
If only eBay's IT were half as enthusiastic...

You have some wonderful feedback left for you, which translates to a lot of happy buyers.
That should make you very proud.

Thanks. I just thought the one was worth sharing in light of all the buyer hate we've been seeing lately. I realize this may make me sound like a bit of a Pollyanna, but I do think we forget that they (the buyers) are not the enemy. I definitely do get bent out of shape with some of the stuff we have to deal with when it comes to eBay's less than well thought out changes (the AI garbage, the disappearing listings, the only semi-functional app), but I think most buyers are pretty okay.

OMG I thought I was about to lose my mind because it's the FIFTH most recent feedback even though the more-recent four were older sales .... then I remembered buyers can leave feedback whenever they want so it won't necessarily show in the same order as sales, DUH!! 🤣 But it is still kind of odd that you got 4 new ones from old sales just yesterday. -Did you do a catch-up round of leaving fb's for buyers yesterday?
But I sure hope the buyer isn't so in love with the Nicole Miller enhancement to her looks that she goes around walking (and jeez hopefully not DRIVING) ..... with +2.00 lenses in front of her eyes!!!

🤣🤣 No doubt! The things we do for vanity!! I really hope I haven't endangered the lives of anyone in her immediate proximity.
I think eBay probably just sent out reminders to buyers. My feedback is automated to leave positive feedback for buyers as soon as they pay. I don't care if buyers leave feedback for me as long they're happy, but the our friend with the specs made my day. It looks like this is pretty regular behavior for her. She's got quite a bit of feedback herself, and she leaves these wonderful, enthusiastic messages for pretty much everyone. She's probably a lot of fun to be around irl.

The referenced feedback is now at position 26!
I looked at position 5 and thought I was losing MY mind!

No it's just 6th at this time. You must have seen the default 'Relevant' view of the page.
Did you not know this?: Several months ago (?) the tinkerers made feedback sortable (cuz you know, THAT was something buyers and sellers had been crying out for for years 🙄). And they made the default view the one they call "relevant", cuz ......... ???
Incidentally if you're wondering what makes one feedback more "relevant" than another, it's determined by software obviously, based on how many key factors the writer addresses, including communication, shipping speed, care in packaging, item being as described, maybe price(?) .... anyway you get the gist. So when sorted by Relevant, that's usually (but not necessarily) where you see the long 'paragraph' comments. However in the case of the OP, even though the buyer said A LOT, she talked only about the item she was buying, and couldn't talk about how satisfied she is after receiving them or about the seller's role, because she wrote it immediately after paying, LOL. Thus, it's not regarded as very relevant.
I do at least agree with the premise and the criteria; my real beef is with Relevant being the default view. I guess it would be a welcome feature if you just had a negative and the buyer just said "Bad seller, stay away!" or something like that, because it would probably be buried as irrelevant even if it just happened.

I thought I was losing my mind too, thanks @gurlcat I didn't notice the sort change LOL. BTW, you absolutely can wear reading glasses as distance glasses! My eye dr has recco it to me several times when I've had a mishap with my driving glasses or my script is changing & I'm waiting a year for my next glasses insurance benefit. She just tells me the most likely reading power that would match my needed distance vision (typically between a +1 & +2 for me). It sounds weird, but it works like a charm, esp in a pinch when you don't want to spend big money until insurance pays for it again LOL. In fact, I just used it the other day when I wore the wrong glasses into my car & was too lazy to go back inside & get the right ones LOL, just grabbed a pair of readers out of the glove compartment 🙂 Side effect of getting old, too **bleep** many glasses around the house😀
@tarotfindsandmore You're not a pollyanna, it's a really pleasant surprise when it happens. I've had it happen a handful of times & a couple of times I think the buyer was just confused, but usually, it's someone I've had communication with & they just feel good enough about our chat to leave FB right away. It always makes me feel good & I appreciate the reminder that buyers are not our adversaries! eBay did another one of it's periodic 'let me change all your defaults' on SIO & they turned on my 'Allow Counteroffers' without my knowlege. I've been getting bombarded with unsolicited crazy low offers for days. They were feeling like an enemy lately LOL. But alas, those are not buyers, the real buyers, I adore 🙂
