"Your funds are on hold until 1 day after we can confirm delivery. We expect to release your funds on Aug 4."

Why is my money on hold? Is it because I'm a first time seller? I don't feel good about shipping until the money is in my account and I can see with my own eyes that yes, I have been paid. What can I do to get my money? They said, "sometimes place a hold on funds if there's an open claim or dispute on the transaction, if your buyer reports a problem with the transaction, if your account is restricted or suspended, or if you owe eBay money. If your funds are put on hold, we'll notify you by email and, depending on the reason, may request additional information from you to help resolve the issue."

There is no claims or disputes, that I got notice of, I don't think my account is restricted or suspended and I do not owe money to eBay. On top of things I never got an email from them saying my money was on hold. I've heard so many bad things about this place, I was beginning to rethink my choice in selling environment. At this point, I suppose I am just a little concerned about actually getting paid and if this is normal.

Paypal is my payment method*

And since you are a first time seller, often those holds can be up to 21 days.

This is to protect buyers until a new seller proves themselves.

Sorry I know it sucks but most of us had these new seller holds, long, long ago..

ETA If PP is your payout method, you need to register for managed payments or you might not get paid at all.

ETA AGAIN: You are in MP already..

Ship it.

Even though your payment is on hold, you have been paid.

@espero17354

You need to ship within the shipping terms of your listing. When it shows that you can ship....ship.

Please, be versed in selling processes so you can avoid incurring additional costs and problems.

Ebay works...just not for everyone.

The very best moving forward,

PayPal did the same for new sellers. And sometimes even for those that have been selling for a while for one reason or another.

If the money is showing up on payments, you'll eventually get paid. Be happy you at least get paid semi immediate (normally at least) vs 3 - 5 days after delivery.

Please ship as suggested - if you want to get thru this 21 day holds timeline, you need to be compliant for your order(s), ship timely, demonstrate to e-bay, etc.  That item needs to be delivered for you to get paid.

Every new Seller goes thru this.  Good luck and Happy Future Sales!

Hello and welcome!

Most new sellers have limits on their accounts, including temporary holds on their funds. Below is the policy on this for your perusal.

Just be sure to ship when eBay informs you it is time to do so. Your funds are usually released after delivery confirmation. (So not shipping will guarantee you will not receive your payouts.) The second link below discusses how to get your funds more quickly than the possible 21 days.

Good luck to you, and wish you much success on eBay.

Yes, it is as you already know... you're a first time seller. Sorry that the reality of that is just now hitting you.

The next move is your call... eBay has confirmed that your payment is on hold.

You can 1) ship and expect to see the money in your account after the transaction's delivery is confirmed, or you can 2) not ship and not expect the money... plus take a seller defect that might blow selling on eBay (for you) altogether, anyway.

For what it's worth... I've never had a payment not  move to 'Completed' once it says it's 'Processing'. Think long, think wrong.

New sellers always have holds on funds.    FYI, if you "delay shipments" until funds are released you will loose all your customers and probably get "defect penalty" on your account for not shipping promptly.

With new MANAGED PAYMENTS normally it takes 5-7 AFTER sale for money to deposited into your CHECKING ACCOUNT.   Because you are a new seller there will be "longer delays" because you have to prove that you are good, honest seller.

⁵Try again, I've bought and sold here for over 21 years and I'm being treated like this newbie you seem to be lecturing when you know nothing!

So let me get this right. If I am again a new seller on eBay I have to prove myself and wait a month to be paid? You do realize that's totally absurd  Business principal.

I have been off eBay since they closed my account in May 2021 for not joining MP.

While I did miss it at first I did move on and  am much happier.  I was at record LP seller

And had 100% positive feedback, my commissions  now would have gone from 10.5% to 14.55%

plus wait to prove myself. Not once has eBay contacted me to ask how they could get me back as a seller

Not for me. Plenty of other platforms to sell on. Very disappointed in ebay

I have sold an item on Ebay today Oct 12th 2021 and I shipped it within a few ours supplying tracking. I have a 100% customer rating and have been a seller for many years, and was told my payment is on hold until it it delivered, which is estimated to be January 15th 2022!!! I can't tell you how angry I am with Ebay. To make matters worse, there is no way you can contact Ebay. All you can do is to go to their FAQ area for a circular journey to nowhere. Does anyone know how to contact an actual person in Ebay?
