Looking for any possible suggestions we may have missed, in meantime, to try to help our buyer.
We are stuck in the post Amex doom loop among other issues.
We put on another card after they removed Amex. Seller fees put funds in negative and we need to refund a buyer. It is saying to add payment method when you go to cancel and then when you add card, it does not save it to be able to cancel or refund. It is stuck on that add payment loop glitch people experienced after the Amex removal. Even though is in the payment preferences, it is not as payment option on the cancel, refund, or pay fees.
Here are the things we tried:
1.) IT help ticket with Ebay
2.) Try to cancel on computer
3.) Try to cancel on app
4.) Try to refund on computer
5.) Try to refund on app
6.) Delete payment method on computer and readd under preferences
7.) Delete payment method on app and readd under preferences
8.) Same things via phone browser for website
SOLVED: Ebay has not fixed yet, but we were able to able to refund the buyer by purchasing from another account. That was the only thing that worked so far.

When you delete the Amex, are you clearing the field or clicking on a button to cancel. I have not done this process, so forgive me if I'm asking you something you deem odd.
What I do know is when changing other things in your MP account, like your bank account. The system seems to be more receptive of the change if you clear the field and then enter the updated info.
I'm going to tag this post as brighter minds may likely have the answer you seek.

Amex has been deleted since the announcement came out. Thank you for trying to help.

Hey @mam98031 I would agree that sometimes the system is more receptive if you remove something and then replace it afterward. However, @eyesofthebeanies if that trick isn't helping, the best recommendation would be to contact CS and speak with the Payments team. (scroll to the bottom of that page for the contact options)

On the bottom left where it says Selling Costs, click the "manage" link.
When the pop-up appears, what do you see? Do you see a default non-AmEx credit card? Bank account? What's shown as the default, or is nothing selected as the default?

Thank you! I hope they get it fixed. We were able to solve the portion with our buyer and get them refunded by purchasing from ourselves with another account as temporary work around the glitch.

It is not accepted directly on Ebay anymore, but if a buyer want to use it, they can set their AMEX up in a PayPal account and use it.

What? How did that work? Not sure that is something Ebay would be happy to know about.
