Part doesn’t fit

So sold a PS3 plastic hard drive cover buyer is returning because it does not fit. Every gamer knows there are different versions of the PS3 console and that you as a buyer should investigate any part you need before you buy. Item  164151287276. I was only starting to sell parts of systems. I stopped selling game systems Period when scammers started to pull the item does not work garbage now looks like I am going to stop selling parts. I still can’t believe EBay let’s people get away with this.

So If you don’t know that is why you ask the seller. That is why retail stores have employees.

This also does not give the buyer an excuse to not return the item.

I'm not a gamer but if I had a PS3 and wanted a plastic cover for it I would think purchasing a cover from an Ebay listing that says it is for a PS3 would be OK. Maybe not even think about having to ask ?

So let me ask you this if the buyer was that ignorant how would he know what the part was and what the part did?

Also still does not excuse the buyer for not returning the item.

Were you able to get ahold of ebay? Any news to report?

Nope can not get a hold of a human at eBay and the only options I get on return is refund.

So the buyer never returned the item and eBay gave me option to open case I did and this is the response from eBay what does it mean?

eBay opened a case because of an issue with an item purchased from you. We reviewed the case and have decided to issue the buyer a refund of $7.80 without any impact to you.

This case is now closed. You are not required to reimburse the buyer or eBay, and this case will not be counted in your seller performance evaluation.

It appears you were successful in getting a refund provided by ebay for your buyer.  At least the case is closed now.  My understanding was these would automatically close without asking ebay to step in, but it might take a month or so.

So, you get his bad part back and he keeps your good part.  ebay says that 'faulty returns' are a part of 'doing business', but ebay isn't out the part or the money.

Do you have ESP.  Please no rumors. Switching parts happen but very very rare. The buyer got a curtesy refund from Ebay.
