Order number lookup?

Someone messaged me saying they bought my item, but I didn’t hear anything about that from either eBay or PayPal. They provided me with the order number, so I’d there a way I can look it up to see if this is legit? And if so would there be a way to contact eBay about the missing funds

If the money is not in your paypal account and you are confident that you have the correct pp email address in your listing, then you were never paid. You can, for giggles, ask them for the paypal transaction ID.

I would ask the buyer for the item number.

Before contacting Ebay, I would make sure the items were listed correct and you are approved to sell digital items.

Look in Paypal for recent or pending payments.

If the buyer really purchased this, the order number and their ID should appear on your All Sold page.

Go to the auction listing.
Click on the blue word SOLD to the right of the words quantity and available.
The buyer ID, date etc. should appear.
Is the available quantity correct?

Encourage them to file an Item Not Received Case.
They will find they can't file a case against you.
Maybe they can file one against some other seller, but not you.
I have had a few eBay members claim to have bought from me, but didn't.
They contacted me because I have or had the identical item.
Some were honest and confused, others were scam artists trying to rip me off.
