Only 'positive' feedback button showing

So, one bid at the starting price won the auction, but buyer did not contact me or pay. Complete waste of time and I couldb't relist until Ebay allows. Went to leave feedback, but only the positive feedback button is available. How do I stop this please?

Re: Only 'positive' feedback button showing

You cannot leave less than positive feedback for buyers. You cannot even leave a positive with a negative tone.

The only thing you could do is not use auctions and use immediate payment required on fixed price listings to avoid non-paying bidders.

Yep you can only leave positive feedback for buyers, Which is extremely bogus for sellers, because we cannot tell if other sellers have had any bad experiences with certain buyers, because it all comes up as great, Very Wrong but it is what it is!

Re: Only 'positive' feedback button showing

Sellers have not been able to leave anything but positive feedback since, I believe, 2008.

The best way to stop it is to list as a fixed price with immediate payment required.

Have a great day.

Re: Only 'positive' feedback button showing

Sellers have been unable to leave negative or neutral ratings for buyers since May 20, 2008.  How fortunate you are to have never had occasion to notice this before now.

Re: Only 'positive' feedback button showing

We don't need negative feedback on buyers.  Buyers get strikes when sellers properly cancel, and then the block is automatic, saving us the time of needing to research our buyers.

No! That's wrong. I've had other ebay accounts where I was sent retributive negative feedback as recently as 2018 or 2019.   I remember this quite distinctly as I had to call ebay about it.

I can't imagine what ebay helped you do in 2018, but the negative option for buyers ended, as mentioned by others, in 2008.   Are you thinking about receiving a negative from someone you gave a negative to?  They would have had to buy from you to then give you one as the seller.

@tupennyrice

Your post about an unreliable buyer brings to mind that aspect of selling on eBay which is not discussed much.

And that is figuring out the buyer demographic to whom you want to sell.

Yes, all sellers run the risk of encountering someone like your buyer above.

But it's pretty clear that there are some categories which attract misfits, thieves and scammers, and others that, well, don't.

Or at least in such an infinitesimally small number as to be inconsequential.

I know that this is not the sort of response that you were looking for, but I thought I'd mention it in case someone finds it useful.  regards

Re: Only 'positive' feedback button showing

1. If a buyer hasn't paid in 3 days, the seller can cancel, citing "buyer didn't pay as the reason".

2. Sellers haven't been allowed to leave negative feedback for buyers for many, many years.

Nope, being able to leave a buyer a negative was done away with in early 2008...like April or May.

So, if you returned something to Walmart and annoyed the clerk, you'd be cool with them calling Target to tell them to never sell to you?
