One order but two return labels

Recently I had a buyer purchased two items from me and she needed to return them.

eBay generated her 2 QR code for the returns.

I ended up sending my own return label to this buyer. And she returned both of them in 1 label. eBay automatically closed the return before I received them with my own label. And I was unable to refund her at the beginning. I even reached to eBay customer service and the agent was telling me to bank transfer her.

After about an hour or two, I could send her refund. And there was no something like "because there was a return request exist, you can not refund" anymore. (eBay had already closed the return requests.) So I thought that the system just glitched.

Just wonder if eBay can do something to allow us to combine the returns. And I did set up 2 month return policy. But the buyer showed me a screen shot that the QR codes/Labels became  invalid. After 14 days of starting the return process, she was unable to access the return code. I want to have available options to allow the buyer to return items after initiating the return in 14days/1 month.

I don't know how you guys think. Maybe 14 days is good for us as sellers.

Did you update the claim with the tracking number from the label you issued the buyer?

You need to keep the claim completely current in whatever is transpiring.  To include any contact you have with the buyer should ONLY be through the claim so that everything pertaining to the claim is in one place.

YES if a label doesn't get used, it does get voided after a period of time.  We only have to pay for them if used.  But since as far as Ebay was aware, your buyer didn't return the items, they would have closed the case because the buyer was non compliant.  It doesn't hurt the buyer in any way.

It may be that you tried to issue the credit to the buyer before the system completely updated with closing the claim.  I'm glad you were able to refund the buyer.

Ebay does have a problem with combined shipments.  I honestly don't know what the answer is, just thankful it doesn't happen very often as a seller.  But you need to always, no matter what kind of claim it is, to ALWAYS keep the claim fully updated with whatever it is that you are doing.
