No Sales

I am not a big seller but have been selling for years on eBay and generally have several sales per week.  In October I sold 4 items total, earning a mere $104 despite having over 270 listings.  What is the problem, it it me or is it eBay?  I am listing a new item daily and just don't get it.  Normally, October is a solid sales "pre-Chistmas month.  I feel like I am wasting my time.

Re: No Sales

Not you - really slow for many of us.

Lots of glitches, category chaos, search issues, the economy...a whole mish-mash of things.

Many threads asking the same question.  Good luck, hang in there!

Not just you.  I think it is obvious that ebay wants to put itself out of business.

Re: No Sales

The slowdown seems to hit specific categories and thus impacts some sellers more than others.  You might try ending your listings and then use "sell similar" to relist.  There are some indications that when Ebay shuffled everything around last month that their algorithms created some, perhaps, unintended consequences where many listings were lost to their own search.  The B team at eBay apparently did not do sufficient Beta testing.  Of course corporate America never admits to making errors and this solution was provided by a very large seller of vintage items often clustered in some specific categories that got mucked about.  Just be sure to not relist beyond the free listings that are available to you.  But I believe you can do a bulk relist of "sell similar" from the seller hub

Re: No Sales

Hi, i looked through some of your listings and felt they show a solid professional effort in descriptions and photos.

The only things of note that i felt were worth mentioning were the No Returns policy and perhaps the 2 day handling. Those two things could be pushing your listings further down the Search results.

When one’s sell-thru rate falls, eBay has intimated that can also cause a fall in Search placement. Which can start a self perpetuating lack of sales if one cannot get their listings seen.

I didn't note if you were promoting any of your listings. And i am unfamiliar with the glass collecting community beyond the knowledge that collectibles overall have suffered a decline over recent years.

But i doubt your latest sales trouble have as much to do with your efforts as they have with eBay’s latest round of changes. And the waning of the pandemic in many shoppers eyes has sent them back into stores. However, i would be very surprised if your sales don’t pick up soon. You obviously know what you are doing. Good luck and hope your sales improve quickly.
