Just got dumped in to the new shipping label layout page ... so, can we opt out of this or are we stuck with this change too ... its not all on one screen for display so it means more scrolling ...
Page designs with more scrolling seems to be a repeating theme ... is this something they're teaching in IT Design school perhaps?

It is only frustrating and futile to resist.
I am now printing 2 on a page when I used to print 4; 2 on front, 2 on back of paper.
I have all paper leftover (WASTED) when labels are trimmed in a pile.
The pile from the new improved label is 3.4 oz.
The pile from old label fits in a china teacup. A china teacup not even full.
To be completely fair (who? me?) 😄 I made no effort to keep count of how many labels created each stack but it was and is immediately clear.
Of course the new improved label scraps are very useful as note paper and random notes taped to things around the house. BUT there are limits to how many notes and labels a person needs!
I am trying to be conscience of wastage in all areas of my life; paper, water, food, electricity, and my own strength.
Maybe I can sell a stack of paper scraps on eBay?
You would think the folks in California (especially there) would be more tuned to the waste involved on the printing end ... I wonder how many trees that represents?

@salemwhich I agree ... one page with all the info ... its a stinking shipping label after all NOT a novel ...

EBAY LISTEN TO US SELLERS - Throw away the new shipping label screen and leave te classic label screen just like it is.
The new label screen is a complete and total mistake and is ruining something that was perfect just like it was.
We must create shipping labels everyday and we need it all on one browser screen without and scrolling and the smallest number of clicks to get a label printed. The classic label screen meets that need and is perfect just like it is.
The new label screen requires scrolling up and down and 5 times the number of clicks to get a label printed. Labor for the shipping department costs us money and your new label screen will now cost us 5 times more labor costs to get our shipping labels printed every month.

@rocks_and_chakras Agree 110% ... the new layout is an abomination. Now I have to log in to PayPal for the eBay-PayPal communication to complete, if I don't then I get the dreaded spinning wheel of doom ...
And now, if I switch back to the Classic view it will NOT connect and print a label regardless of what I do. I have made NO changes to anything so the issue is with eBay, pure and simple.
The Classic page is used on another computer without issue ... so like you and many others, why change something that works just fine.
Another issue is the new layout does NOT show the Counter price on shipping for the Seller ...this is important when needing to issue a small refund for shipping costs which Buyers really appreciate. Collectibles can not all be pre-packaged for exact weights, too many different shapes and sizes, so occasionally we can refund some shipping costs. The Classic page has this info right there to see ...

ABOMINATION !! Excellent word to describe the clusterf**k new label screen.
I do understand why they are making the new label screen which is primarily designed for sellers that either do not want to or cannot ship all orders on the same day the orders were placed. Hence, all the new "customer expecting to receive" and "Estimated delivery" displaying for each package type features as well as fedex. And I guess Ebay wants to make the label screen more professional looking and prettier as well as design it for low tech ametuer sellers that get confused and can't figure out how to operate the classic label screen.
SOO EVERYBODY ... We need to fight and fight to get them to never delete the classic label screen for those of us that like it and want to use it. Below is the full text of a message I have sent to some of the delevopment team contact emails I have obtained over the yesr. Copy and submit the part below, about keeping the classic label available, generously and repeatedly to all ebay contacts and suggesiton forms you can find ... Or soon they will remove access to the classic lablel screen.
------------------------------------------
For the shipping label screen ALL sellers need the least number of clicks and least amount of scrolling to get a label printed. Time is labor employee money and unnecessary additional clicks and scrolling dozens of times a day thousands of times a month tens of thousands of times a year is a LOT of additional labor costs. The classic label screen was perfect but you decided to change it and I do understand why you added all of the additional stuff on the new label screen. I have given some suggested revisions for the new label screen below to optimize the new screen.
PLEASE TODAY IMMEDIATELY change the "Go back to classic label printing" so that when we click it, it remembers that selection on our account. And ADD to the top of the classic label printing screen in the top right corner "Go to new label printing" link that we can click and it remembers that selection for our account.
PLEASE Keep the classic label screen forever and never delete it ... for those of us that want to use it and have no need for all the added features the new label screen has on it. Lots of us ship all orders the same day the order was placed so we have no need for the delivery time features of the new label screen. Lot of us only use USPS and will never be using FedEx.
These design changes will eliminate click steps, reduce required scrolling and/or make it more user friendly:

@Anonymous Hey Trinton, I am looping you in to this thread only as a means to respond to your response to my post on this week's Weekly Chat (1-16-19) about the new Label Printing page AND your advice to use the "Tell us what you think" link to voice our displeasure.
I have done so from the onset of the new Label Printing page and on every account here, more then once and more then ten times on the main ID. You will notice that this thread was created in July of last year so we are 6 months down the road and NOTHING has been changed NOR did they take any of my suggestions including the option to permanently Opt out of the new label printing format page.
If there is a magic number of "Tell us what you think" replies we need to submit to actually get something changed let me know what it is ...
Best regards,
Mr. L

I can report that 1 thing changed. You can now edit the ship from address. However ALL of the other issues still remain. The most serious is that it locks you in to a very limited number of shipping options. For whatever reason my buyers tend to pick the first shipping option, even if another is a better price/choice. In the new flow I was unable to switch from FedEx SmartPost to USPS Priority or even from USPS ParcelSelect to Priority. The whole mess needs to go back to the Business Analyst group for a thorough rework and redesign. The current project specs are obviously inadequate for the need.

Right below the three shipping options is a bar that says "Compare other ... " if you click that a complete list of shipping options will appear that you can (ARRGH) scroll down through ... THAT is the list that is NEVER the same. I kid you not, I use four methods, period, First Class, Parcel Select and (regular) Priority mail and Large package) Priority mail (NEVER FLAT Rate). I have to search that long list almost every time I go from the Buyer selected Parcel Select to Priority mail ... Then, below all of that is the adder for Sig confirmation, insurance, etc.

Hmmm, so far I've only been dropped into the new flow once, just last week, and I didn't see a "compare other" bar, but I could have missed it as I had a huge pile of items to process and I REALLY DID NOT want to deal with the changed form..... I did however make my opinions known before hitting the back to classic button. hehehe.

Hi @mr_lincoln, thanks for touching base on this topic. While volume for a specific issue can certainly indicate to us what changes may be most important to prioritize, all suggestions are reviewed and taken into consideration. I can't give you an estimated timeframe for any specific change but I have reached out to the appropriate team on this feature and included your feedback from the weekly chat and this thread to ensure it is reviewed.

I completely understand, if one person says they do not like the background color of a page nothing happens but if 1,000 people say they don't like the fact that the new format requires scrolling one or two screens to see what used to be on one page then the IT Programmers will consider it as a legitimate concern ... I appreciate you passing on this thread's comments as well as the Weekly Chat ... which brings me to this point, I got your question from your Weekly Chat post asking what happens when the log in does not happen between eBay & PayPal ... pic below of my screen (sanitized of course) ... there is no error message, just the spinning wheel ... if I am not already logged in to PayPal this is a far as it goes. I can log in to PayPal DURING the spinning wheel but this will not change the spinning wheel, have to stop it and go back to the label printing page and click the blue Print label button again, then it will get past the spinning wheel and complete the process. The error message I displayed on this thread earlier was from clicking the Print label button on the Sold item ...

Apologies if this was already answered and I missed it, but does the same problem occur when using another browser, Chrome in particular?
In the past, I regarded Internet Exploder as the standard with which web page coding was expected to work (i.e. not necessarily the best, but the one in widest use), but on older machines in particular, it became less capable of managing newer pages, whereas Chrome was much more resilient. I have a couple of old XP boxes here that remain fully functional for eBay shipping, but only because I switched from IE to Chrome in order to do it.
Judging from your problem description, it sounds as if the background code makes only one attempt to log in to PayPal, and then hangs with that hourglass symbol, implying that there are further attempts going on when in fact there aren't. That might explain why logging in manually via another window has no effect on the first one.
Do you have the same issues if using Chrome or perhaps Firefox?
