Yes.
With all due respect, you may (probably should) want to read up on 'Managed Payments', and then go to the 'Payments' board and check out the many topics of conversation. It seems that many threads are being moved to more appropriate boards.

A buyer doesn't need to read up on Managed Payments.
But now @Anonymous all we have on the PayPal transaction details page is sparse details,
- showing eBay as the seller, so we don't know the seller, and
- not showing any item number or description.
Seller info
eBay
800-456-XXXX
Invoice ID
XXXX (not helpful)
Purchase details
Purchase amount [sic] $123.45
Total
Need help?
If there's a problem, contact the seller through PayPal (that's a problem too, as eBay is not the seller)
That's it. No seller ID, and just "Purchase amount" instead of the item title, item number, quantity, etc.
Please add those details back when paying the eBay Inc PayPal account through Managed Payments.

Can you clarify your question? Does the pronoun "you" refer to a buyer? So, is your comment, "Now it seems a buyer pays eBay instead of the seller?"
Can you explain what led you to believe that eBay is being paid instead of a seller? Did you see something on a screen that made you think there's been a change? Could you post a screenshot or snippet of it?
I see that you are a seller, so maybe you're referring to something you've seen that makes you think your buyers are paying eBay and not you?
It would really help people answer your question if there were a little more detail provided.

I just rechecked Paypal. I used cash for the purchase and it says Ebay is the seller. I couldn't find anywhere on the transaction where the real seller is. Also, I also sell on Amazon and they put the money in a bank account after all their fees. With Ebay I would use the Paypal money to buy things , but I never did with Amazon because the money was put in my bank account. This is really going to hurt Ebay sales , because it takes the money out of the Ebay system. with me, once it is in my bank account, I move on.

Hi @dede394 and @emieo, do either of you have an item number you can share as an example? While a buyer doesn't need to research how payments are processed on eBay via managed payments, I certainly can get feedback to our teams on the way these transactions are recorded and what you would like to say. I do want to add that it is not typical for the funding source to record more than the business name for a transaction, so while more details may have been visible in the past when PayPal was our payment processor, as we move towards PayPal simply becoming a funding source option you may see that the details available in the PayPal transaction are more limited. Full details would be available in the purchase history and a buyer could use the transaction amount to locate which purchase the item was related to (much as they would have to do with other payment methods, such as credit or debit cards).

My item number is 143190769902. I like to know who the real seller is. Also the seller often only uses his real name as a return address. I can buy a lot of the same items and some sellers are dealers , so i like to know who I am doing business with and which group of items I just received. When I get thirty of one item, I usually check the sellers name so I know which group I got. Also I do sell, so this isn't just from a buyer's perspective. I am concerned that business will suffer when seller's money leaves the paypal account and goes into a bank account.

WOW, EBAY is the SELLER? Really? I Think Not
08-28-2019 01:25 PM
I agree, PAY-PAL is my buying account, and once the money is in a bank account it stays there!

Respectfully speaking, I believe that ebay is seller, as in 'merchant of record' for financials, with the coming of Managed Payments.

Are we really all that surprised? How many UA chargebacks will this create?
08-28-2019 02:01 PM
Much easier to RETURN an item for any reason when there is ONLY A CORPORATE COMPANY FACE to the merchandise and not a REAL LIVE HUMAN BEING!

Hi @myjunqueyourtreasure, since the experience being described here is the industry standard, it is unlikely to result in an increase in unauthorized use chargebacks. In the event that it does, a seller is protected if they shipped to the address provided at checkout. You can read more about the protections available to sellers here.

Hi @emieo, thanks for the added detail. I will pass along your feedback to our managed payments teams. Since PayPal is not the payment processor and is instead the funding source, it may not be possible to provide the level of detail you are looking for in the PayPal transaction, but you can find the information you are looking for within your purchase history either way.
I would like to know more about your concerns as a seller. Can you elaborate for me what you are worried about specifically regarding the movement of funds with managed payments?

I think this is one of the dumbest moves that ebay has made. We now cannot get business loans thru Paypal because it is in the contract that they are being paid by a percentage of our sales. When Paypal no longer has control of our accounts then no more loans. This will hurt most long standing sellers who list a great deal of items. I feel they will lose alot of good sellers. They should give us a choice to join or not join. Pay the fees or not pay the fees. It should be the sellers choice.
Good bye ebay!!!
