Negative feedback

I submitted negative feedback to a seller several days ago, why hasn't it posted yet?

Because 1 of 2 things:

 

some sellers can't be 'left' feedback until 'past 7 days'...

 

seller may have had it removed (either what you said qualified; or seller is Top Rated and does Free Returns or, or or...)

It may have been removed.  The fact that you are posting on the seller board stating you left a negative feedback may result in that the replies here may not be so cordial.

eBay most likely removed it. They have a strong tendency to do so. Even if it is deserved.

With a removal, it removes both ends of the feedback.

If someone leaves a negative feedback and it's removed, it doesn't show up anywhere. That's often how buyers know their feedback has been removed, it's no longer in "left for others".

 

As for the 7 day thing, you wouldn't even be able to attempt to leave a negative after less than 7 days, it would tell you to wait and post it later.

 

eBay also has a pop up to advise buyers to try and resolve issues with sellers before posting a negative (I think it even gives you a link to contact the seller, I only know this because someone posted a screenshot when they attempted to leave a negative, I've never left a negative feedback before), so if the buyer is intent on just leaving the negative without even attempting to resolve the issue, that buyer ends up immediately on my BBL. The only people I don't negotiate with are scammers.

Thank you all, very helpful comments.  I have been here 20 years and first time ever I had to.  That is how strongly I felt about their unfair practices.  They basically advertised an item and clearly sent me something different and refused to return/refund.  Apparently they really need the money.   If ebay refused to allow the negative feedback, then I think they should have had the manners to notify me why they won't post it.  It wasn't nasty feedback, it was factual.  (negative can only be so positive).  Either way, the shine had dulled for me with Ebay, the fees are too high and from reading other comments, it seems they side with the sellers.  Afterall, ebay gets a piece of the action on every item sold.  Be nice to have an alternative auction site.

Did you open a return?? Did you open one for "Not As Described"??

 

A seller can not refuse to return/refund a "Not As Described" claim. They don't need to agree to it either. EBay will force it one way or another. It's part of your Money Back Guarantee (MBG). You should read the MBG

 

EBay does not side with the sellers. EBay sides with buyers. Buyers rights are insanely robust, but they are useless if you don't know how to use them...

 

You have 30 days from delivery to file for return, and you will get the return and/or refund...

They seller had listed in their ad that they did not accept returns.  Once I received the item, I opened a return, sent pictures of the original part (and part number) and the part they sent me. It was clearly the wrong part and did not match their ad.  I assumed they would send me the correct part or refund.  Couple days later I got a message that the seller refused the return and ebay closed it without any explanation. 

In my negative feedback I posted the same picture and that they sent the wrong part and refused to return/refund.  That posting in the ad 'no returns accepted' is not a pass or excuse for unfair practices. 

I am assuming their defense is that they had posted in their ad 'no returns'.

After 20 years here I am still learning the hard way.  I won't buy from any seller now that posts 'no returns' or 'as is'.

Once I received the item, I opened a return ... (and few days later got a message saying seller refused).... What kind of return did you open? Sounds like you did not file a "Not As Described" case. Sounds like you filed what is called a remorse case (an option that amounts to "I didn't like it" or "it doesn't fit".) Sellers (w/ no returns) can refuse remorse returns. Seller  can't refuse "Not As Described" or "Item Defective" or "Arrived Damaged" or "Missing Parts" etc...
