Negative Feedback

Looking for an explanation to help me in the future. I sold an item (22-08342-32607) and I missed labeled it..my fault. I apologized to the buyer within 15 min. of getting his email, accepted full blame, explained the circumstances, gave him positive feedback &   a FULL REFUND, AND...... let him keep the item!!! He still gave me NEGATIVE...my first in almost 800 sales. What more could I have done and what can I do to get ebay to review it for me. BECKY SUE

So sorry for your loss, Becky Sue - I can't imagine the pain and heartbreak. May your daughter's memory be a blessing. 💕

Re: Negative Feedback

I would have listed the balls exactly how you did.  I know nothing about golf, balls, bats or hoops.  Are any of those used in golf?

The box says exactly what you stated in the listing.  I don't know how you could have done more than you did.  And I don't understand how the balls were different, but I guess they were.

I'm really enjoying writing "the balls".  Sophomoric, but hey, it's early and I'm having a giggle.

Sorry that happen (the balls)

Re: Negative Feedback

Ooh. VERY good point! That had not even crossed my mind but you are most likely right.

Your suggested response takes care of it in good fashion. 🙂

I look at a neg as a way for future buyers to see how you handle a transaction that went bad.

I would of probably responded something like " incorrect listing, buyer got full refund and kept item".

Re: Negative Feedback

I predict you won't win a "reasoning contest" with this buyer.

You disappointed a buyer by failing to deliver the item you advertised.

Sometimes a negative feedback is the consequence for failing to perform as a seller.

Re: Negative Feedback

Becky Sue, so sorry for your loss.

You wrote:

First of all, I will contact the buyer and try to reason with him to change this, totally unfair feedback”

The feedback is fair snd honest. It simply states they did not receive what your listing said the item was. That is true, and a refund, and allowing them to keep the item, does not change the error made in listing.

I realize this feels unfair because the buyer got a free item. You tried to make it right, but the buyer was honestly disappointed. It was not a positive buying experience. The way to make this right would have been sending what was advertised. Then ask for the feedback to be revised if the buyer is amenable.

Re: Negative Feedback

What wasn't compensated was the time the buyer put into it. The time to find and purchase. Then the time waiting for item to get there. Then the time messaging. Then the time trying to find the right item again.

All you can do is try. And you did that.

Re: Negative Feedback

So sorry for your loss.   The FB is not unfair though, the buyer didn't get what he expected/bought. The fact that you refunded him, does not negate that.  You actually STILL haven't said if the balls are Titleist or not?  The way I read the FB, that's what's at the heart of it.  Sounds like he got a different brand or thinks he did.

Regardless, you should know that you only get a certain number of FB revision requests per year, so don't waste one on a buyer that you haven't spoken to & confirmed that they are willing to change the FB first.   I doubt this buyer will change his FB.

Re: Negative Feedback

@beckdoh-0  Agree with @simply-the-best-for-you   Don't bother wasting a revision feedback on this one, they're not going to care.  Just leave a good response - how-to is here.   Don't mention your personal difficulties or hurt feelings or anything, just how you tried to resolve your mistake as best as possible. In the great scheme of things, this is painful but honestly, it's just an annoyance.  Think of it as a reminder to be careful with listing and inventory.
