Trying to understand why eBay would not remove a neg feedback. Feedback statement from customer, "They didn't send what I was expecting" This item was a gift basket, (5 sold with positive feedback) The description included each item along with pictures. The size of the basket was included as well.
The response from eBay was, We’ve looked carefully at this feedback and see that it doesn’t qualify for removal.
What does that means? What are the disqualifying factors? Did anyone actually look at the add or just sent me a form letter? Along with the non-removal I was informed that since I am a top rated seller, the one Neg feedback will not change that factor. What does that have to do with the price of eggs? 1. If there's something wrong with my presentation of the gift basket, then what is it that I need to do? 2. Now of course I can not get anyone on the phone.

Yeah, nothing warrants that feedback to be removed since it's the buyer's opinion and doesn't violate any eBay feedback policies.
Nothing much you can do other than contacting the buyer, apologizing, finding out what was wrong, and offering some sort of compensation for it (even a refund if you're willing to go that far to get the feedback removed). Then, if the buyer is satisfied, send them a feedback revision to get it changed. Personally, if the item isn't too expensive, I'll refund them or send a replacement and most of the time they are willing to change their feedback.
I wouldn't really worry about the negative to be honest. I currently have 4 negatives on my account, didn't even respond to any of them (one of them even called me a fraud seller), and my sales have not changed at all. A lot of buyers, including myself, don't even look at feedback anymore as long as the seller is above 98%.

I would have immediately written the buyer to ask what the problem was........
Everything is speculation without that information......it could possibly have been left in error, meaning it for another seller.......
