Well, I've just read a lot of posts and it seems that no one is selling anything including me! Are the sellers that promote their items the only ones making sales???? I don't make much as it is because eBay charges too much but if I promoted my items, I would make zero after fees and shipping. Everyone's items should be promoted with the fee's that are charged ! I did try and promote my items once but sold nothing. I have two eBay sites and zero sales in two weeks! I can't even sell anything for .99 cents. I do not believe that most of my items are visible. I have little to no views. What is going on????

Etsy's growth is slowing but it's still positive (7%) compared to eBay's negative growth.

No one is selling anything. OK, I would have never guessed that looking at sold items.

In my case I promote at the minimum 2% (used to do 1%) because about half of my sales are from PL. I have a LOT of competition in my category, so it's working. I work the extra fees into my prices. Our categories are very different however. Most of my items in that area never sell anyway 😣. That stuff is a tough sell. Good luck!
Now, let's talk SHIPPING rates. THAT's what's killing many of us.

Yes, and replies that "well, the buyer pays the shipping, so no problem!" aren't really that helpful if it's pricing one out of competition. I'm thinking the zone adjustments on first class mail might help us in the distant parts of the US (most notably in the Pac NW with our lower population reach), but at some point I'll run out of adaptive ability and find something else to do.

GMV- (Gross Merchandise Volume)
Now, eBay wants to redefine GMV to put up a false-facade as core growth keeps going down.

Yep spot on.. Though eBay would see that as a good thing, suggesting promoting more at a higher %. Effectively doubling-down on pitting platform sellers against one another for profit.

Look at the amount of people complaining on the board about low sales, that will tell you if somethings up or not. Asking a question here about it, just get's you jumped on by the board cheerleaders who will blame you for your low sales, and tell you nothings wrong.

My eBay sales have dwindled to about one per month since, well, whenever it was that gasoline prices started skyrocketing. And then prices in the supermarkets started rising, and I also now pay more for my favorite "meal" at the local nationwide drive-thru chain. I can't remember the last time I bought anything on eBay, and I think twice about putting anything that is more of a "treat" than an essential item into my cart at a supermarket or Target or Costco.
So I imagine that a lot of other people are finding their disposable income has gotten quite limited, and that means eBay buyers as well.
I don't think I've ever blamed a seller on this board who was complaining about low sales. But I also would not say "nothing's wrong." It's just that -- at least in my way of looking at the world -- these sales slumps so many of us are experiencing are NOT all eBay's fault.
If that's cheerleading, then rah-rah.
I will take all the cheers I can get because today I have received One Bid for an auctioned item that ends in about 24 hours. I am delighted !!

If you can't even sell your inventory for .99 cents then that means your are selling stuff that people don't want. I would go on a small rant here but what your selling isn't stuff that's in demand or stuff that people want or need.

Yes, the needle always moves to (needs vs. wants) during inflationary times. @hachumi is correct though about the board group resistance when we talk about eBays role in the decline, and they do have a role here. The debate is fine by me, I believe objective minds will weigh it out.

@hachumi I think you have that backwards. When a question is asked and gets an answer the people who try helping by answering the question gets called names such as cheerleaders.
Are the sellers that promote their items the only ones making sales???? No, they are not the only ones making sales.

Ebay is totally dead, scaring me now.. I have advertised you name it, added items , ZIP! And go look and see if you have any views. Not even been seen.. Ever since they screwed with the categories it's been bad but now it's DEAD!
