So I recently sold a Roblox pet for my sister on ebay. Sold it, buyer who paid looked good, so I sold it to them instead of cancelling. Recorded the whole transaction, they messaged me to meetup in game, and it went well. Next thing you know few weeks later ebay says buyer filed a dispute with their bank. I look at their account, and boom flooded by reviews saying that they were a scammer after all. I Provided evidence, ebay claimed it didn’t matter since the buyer filed a chargeback with their payment institution, and my bank account was charged. So, I contacted my bank, signed a Written statement of Unauthorized ACH debit activity, showed my evidence, and signed a Stop Payment Authorization form. I was able to get my money back, but ebay emailed me again yesterday saying my bank account will be charged. Will it go through? Will my account be charged? Will I have my account closed if I don’t allow them to charge me? Idk kind of worried. When I contacted support and even spoke to a "supervisor" all they said they can do is give me a lousy coupon. I feel like ebay really doesn't care about my money and instead are willing to screw me over, possibly take back money that is rightfully mine, side with a scammer, possibly close my account until I pay them, or even worse send my debt to a debt collection agency. I just want to keep my money. Can you guys please help me? What can I do?

If it's credit card fraud what would you recommend I do? Get the police involved maybe? Also, I marked the transaction as picked up earlier today after all this stuff happened. Will it make any difference?

I was looking at the transaction right now and it now has an option to mark it as picked up. I marked it as picked up. Would that be an equivalent to a tracking number?? Will this make any difference at all?? Ebay has to have the power to pay back its sellers somehow right? I mean they're raking in boatloads of money off seller fees. What should I do now??
No, unfortunately it won't. With pick up transactions, eBay sends the buyer a QR code for them to show the seller, and the seller has to scan the QR code to document that the item was physically picked up in person. It doesn't work for digital sales, so you can't use it to get around the rules. Other sellers have tried that before.
With eBay transactions, the item has to be physically delivered to the buyer. A digital hand off in a game can't be physically delivered.
I see that your buyer has now been kicked off (NARU, not a registered user) which is presumably because they have done this to others as well. And as I said before, the chances are that the buyer paid with a stolen credit card, and the owner of the card truly did not recognize the fraudulent transaction. So eBay has had to return the payment to the credit card company, so they can return it to their defrauded customer (who had nothing to do with your buyer or their digital purchase).
Unfortunately, whether it was or wasn't credit card fraud, there isn't anything you can do about this. You sold something that was prohibited on the site, you can't prove that you physically delivered the item to the buyer, so you have lost the money, and there isn't a physical item that could be returned to you.

@nocoolnamejane wrote:Nope.
You would need the buyer’s q code or confirmation number to confirm the pickup.
Can ebay ask for the buyer's q code?

NO;
No q code or no tracking, equals non delivery:
You sold an item that is against the rules of the company that does the digital thing.
You sold it on eBay against the rules of eBay. Should not have been selling a digitally delivered item.
You got scammed and then come on a public board and talk about all of this??
You are angry and upset. Yet the wrongs you did do not make it right.
Good luck with all of this: and think about it all before doing anything more.
Again this is a PUBLIC forum that anyone can read copy and transmit.

If I go to the police, would they be willing to make sure that ebay doesn't send my debt to a debt collection agency?

If you go to the police, (and they would laugh you of of the precinct for coming in about $50), and IF they agree to look into it, they’ll loop Roblox in and your sister will FOR SURE lose her whole Roblox/Adopt Me account.
If I were you, I’d do like Elsa and let it go.

I doubt that the police would be willing to do anything, and they certainly would not be able to stop eBay from collecting a legal debt.

No.

You sold it on eBay against the rules of eBay. Should not have been selling a digitally delivered item.
But you see this is what sucks about ebay. Ebay will more than gladly let nft bros sell NFTs which, from what I can understand, are digitally delivered via blockchain or whatever. But yeah Imma just pay it off and never do this **bleep** anymore. Thank you guys anyways.

TBH, I'd drop this whole thing. I know $50 isn't chump change, but I think in this case the future harm caused by pursuing this will be greater. Anyone can get scammed selling online, in-game or anything else - it's a risk we take, but if we violate intellectual property rules on top of that, it can get messy.

Before I accept the solution and I guess close this thread, last question, you said the buyer is NARU, how can I see that for myself?

If you did that, then you filed a false statement, because you did authorize eBay to collect their money when you used their services. And now you're blaming eBay?

NFTs can only be sold by pre approved sellers. It’s not just any bro that can go ahead and list them.
You weren’t pre approved to sell your item, and couldn’t have been because the item wasn’t yours to sell and went again Roblox’s TOS.
I bet eBay doesn’t protect sellers selling proven stolen merch either.

I(t does not help your case that you sold it in the wrong category. You are not supposed to list digitally-delivered goods under "merchandise" with "free local pickup."
The eBay Money Back Guarantee does not cover digitally-delivered goods, which is why the unhappy buyer filed a chargeback through his credit card.
Finally, Roblox does not allow the sale of the pets off the Roblox site for real money, and they ban the account of anyone who does if they find out about it, along with any accounts associated with it.
I am not trying to be mean to you but you broke so many rules in selling this that you should just let the whole thing drop.
Then, I hope you take the time to read up a bit on what you can sell, and how to sell it on eBay, so this does not happen again.

You left feedback for the buyer:
You don't close threads on this forum, you just stop responding and they drop down the list and off the first page and nobody sees them anymore.
