Multiple feedback complaints

I have seen several complaints on these boards about the difficulty in leaving feedback. As a seller I haven’t run into that problem myself. I very easily leave bulk feedback through the seller hub. But I gather that the problem has to do with buyers leaving feedback.

In line with that, over the past several months, on a month to month basis, the number of sales that I have made has gone up while the number of feedbacks I have received has gone down.

I realize that feedback is optional and not all buyers take the time. But over the years I have seen that feedback as a percentage of sales has generally stayed in a fairly narrow range.

It has now slipped way below that range.

I am wondering if any other sellers have noticed the same thing thereby validating the complaints about the new feedback page.

Re: Multiple feedback complaints

I experienced the new feedback page for the first time yesterday. I HATE IT. I used to be able to click a bubble and leave a comment, I have never bothered with stars. The new feedback page gave me several pop ups while trying to complete the page. I was SUPER CONFUSED.

Others here claim they don't get pop ups, so I don't know if I'm a new entry into some stupid new test or not, but I pretty much feel like I am no longer bothering with feedback as a buyer, and will only leave it as a seller to my buyers.  The others were quick to point out my STUPIDITY, however I truly was confused by the new format, and the "helpful" pop up boxes led me to believe I was giving feeback to Ebay company, and to the seller combined into one page.  MY MISTAKE. No need to put me down more, unless you really feel it necessary to complete your day.

So over the constant unannounced changes that are supposed to enhance the customer experience, while at the same time, takes out innocent sellers just trying to follow the rules and the constant changes or additions to the rules every 2 days. I'm not sure how much more madness I can put up with.

Re: Multiple feedback complaints

Thank you for your comment. Your expression of frustration with the new page mirrors what others have said.

Specifically, your comment “but I pretty much feel like I am no longer bothering with feedback as a buyer” is exactly what I was concerned with.

Re: Multiple feedback complaints

I have used feedback as a guide in the past, but with all the feedback restrictions, I don't see it being very relevant anymore. The new buyer doesn't know that, but one that's been here a year or more, does know. Frustrating, huh?

Re: Multiple feedback complaints

@richard1rst

I have had only one purchase to leave feedback for with the "new" process.

For me it was fairly simple.

Hit the positive.

Was offered some DSR stars.

Hovered over the approiate star to lock in the gold at that point.

Clicked on submit.

For me, feedback received has been down for quite sometime before the new feedback page.  I am one one that feels "no feedback" is good feedback.  Seems many buyers (generally those that do not sell also) no longer leave feedback unless there is a problem.

Edit:  Oops, i also had a space to enter a comment, which I did.

But that creates exactly the problem I am concerned with.

The less positive feedback you get, the more the occasional negative adversely effects your rating.

One neg out of 1000 drops you to 99.9 But 1 neg out of 500 drops you to 99.8. And it gets progressively worse with additional negs.

Re: Multiple feedback complaints

I just went to leave feedback with the new feedback page.  Did you know that there is no explanation above the stars.  So how do you know what the first, second, third, etc. star means?  Buyers might click the first star they see and think it's "excellent".  Very bad design.

Re: Multiple feedback complaints

I don't like the new feedback page as a buyer or a seller. It's a mess. They made it much larger than it needed to be. More importantly, they "fixed" something that wasn't broken! How absolutely insane is that?

But, I am on board with those who feel like feedback will eventually be phased out or changed from what it is now. I don't think buyers even care about feedback anymore, especially with more and more buyers using the mobile app to make purchases. They pick something they want at the price they like and click buy. That's it.

If they want to make changes, they should hire a new team to completely redesign the mobile app, that's the future.

I did notice that and that was not a good thing to have left out.

Re: Multiple feedback complaints

@buyselljack2016

This sounds absolutely NOTHING like the page I was looking at yesterday. There were like three boxes to add comments, 7 pop ups with arrows, "put this here", I don't recall seeing DSR starts AT ALL, and it reminded me of when you try to do a return, or question the seller after a sale. It opens a case, but the buyer doesn't mean to actually open a case. A question should not open a case. It looked very similar to that process.

Today, I went to leave feedback, and was presented with an entirely different page once again, but it sounds like the one you mention here. Plus not one pop up. Am I now to expect this going back and forth, similar to the mobile site, that changes the front page oh I'd say every 4 days or so, from one of three different front pages.

Does no one else get constant pop ups from Ebay asking how did this go? How can we do better? Please provide feedback about ABC so that we can continue to make the Ebay experience the best? How do I turn those off?

Re: Multiple feedback complaints

It sounds like for whatever reason eBay opted you in to a "tutorial" on the new FB page and then after you'd used it once that went away.

Re: Multiple feedback complaints

The popups asking "how are we doing" I just ignore. Trust me, they do NOT want to know 'what I think'

Re: Multiple feedback complaints

@flyinhawaiiangirl

Just so we're all on the same page, is this the feedback page you're talking about? This is the page I get when I go to "purchase history" and go to leave feedback for a seller I've bought something from. I think I get the same thing that as a seller when I go to leave feedback. I am not using the Seller Hub because I tried it and disliked it immensely.

Oh also, for anyone who hasn't already, I highly recommend clicking the blue "Comment?" box on the right. I gave it a "1" and told them in every box how horrible it was and strongly suggested all in caps that they restore the old feedback page. Smiley Happy

Re: Multiple feedback complaints

That sounds right.  I recall seeing something like "Let us show you around" when I first saw the new feedback screen but I didn't click on it.  I was too annoyed to want to see more or hear why I should like it.

Yes I just figured out what @flyinhawaiiangirl is talking about! See the below screenshots!

Did you click the "X" in the top right corner? When I did that, it went away and I never had it come back again. Does yours come up every time you try to leave feedback, regardless of clicking that "X" to get rid of it?? That's the tutorial. And yeah it's kind of obnoxious, but I didn't see mto have a problem getting rid of it.
