Monthly listing limits .....

So, I look at my Seller's Hub and see that I now have a monthly limit of 5M items and a monthly maximum amount of $5M.

YES, five MILLION !!

I suppose that I should get busy. LOL. Or is this some kind of eBay messing with us!?

There's been a few other post last few days and their limits were raised to 5 million.

Have a great day.

Monthly listing limits .....

Back in the day, when the charges were 10% or under, eBay was so nice. PayPal was attached and they were really good. Ever since PayPal and eBay separated, eBay takes a long time to pay out. They make a big deal on their site to say they are not making any interest on the money. But, come on, everybody knows that holding a billion dollars in transactions over even a day or a weekend results in some really nice interest.
I found the 13.5% transaction rate and the fees excessive last year, along with the delay in payout. I just checked in tonight and it is 14.9% now to use eBay.
When you figure in the post office price hikes, it makes less sense to use eBay and continually more sense to stay local for smaller valued things like what I sell. Bigger items cost more to ship and further cut into the profit of handing something along to a collector of that item.
It would make more sense to get a booth at the flea market than deal with eBay anymore. Very many people have told me that at yard sales and at the flea markets.

Monthly listing limits .....

Just got my message yesterday, 5 million listings and 5 million dollars a month.

If I had the money to list 5 million items, I wouldn't need to sell on Ebay.

Have a great day.

Handing out large listing limits happens periodically and has been going on for at least 5 years. Last time I checked, my limits were 2 billion items / $2 billion. I don't think I have visibility to my limits any longer though.

My selling limit was also increased to the GDP of a small country today, without my knowledge or consent. I actually contacted Ebay and had it reversed because I think it's a fraud risk if someone hacks my account.

The typical scam is to sell a bunch of trending stuff they don't actually have, then string the buyers along claiming there are shipping delays, etc., "but it'll still arrive a few days before Christmas or whenever," and then once enough time has been bought for the money to clear, it's gone, the buyers get nothing, and Ebay foots the refund bill. Hopefully they do, anyway. I don't want to find out.

I've seen posts on craigslist trying to recruit ignorant people for this, asking for accounts with a minimum selling limit. Ebay and/or sellers could get seriously ripped from this policy.
