Media Mail Fraud

How about not having Media Mail as an option in the comic book and magazine categories?

An overwhelming majority of comic book listings and magazines have Media Mail being used as a shipping method.  This is against Media Mail rules.

I occasionally sell magazines and some comics from time to time and I'm at a disadvantage for following the rules.

Re: Media Mail Fraud

I get it.  I've used media mail too, and if I were a book seller, I'd sure want it to stay.  I bet others that sell heavy items would love to have this available for them too.

Re: Media Mail Fraud

While it's a problem to compete with sellers illegally shipping comics Media Mail, it's not all that much of one.

I can send a 1.5 pound comic slab cross country media mail for $4.87 -- eBay does not discount this rate.  I can send the same slab cross country with USPS Ground Advantage for $6.33 (marked down from $15.70 by eBay) and it will get there faster, with better handling, for a mere buck-fifty.

Further, I can send a Gemini box with 25 raw comics cross country for $8.  Media Mail is $6.35, again not such a great bargain for the slow delivery and casual handling.

So, the way to fight this is to emphasize the faster delivery times and less likelihood of damage, both of which are in the interests of comic buyers.

Re: Media Mail Fraud

Why wouldn't a comic qualify for media mail?  Books are media mail.  It's literally in the name of it...comic "book".
