I have been going through my great grandmothers jewelry box. She was born in 1919. I came across some silver clip on earrings marked 5750. Anyone have any idea about this? I have searched and searched and I cannot find anything.

Thank you! For some reason (sleep deprivation probably) I did not look at BOTH earrings. They are Boucher 5750 and need a good cleaning!

You may want to run the earrings by a jeweler, as 575 was used to denote 14k gold (I think it still is often used in Europe). Possibly white gold, rather than silver, and the 'O' being a letter, rather than a numeral.

Designed by either Marcel or his wife Sandra Boucher. copyright marking says it's later (ie: newer) than 1955. The ID# should help you pinpoint more accurate info. Do some google searching.

14k gold is 58.5% - so in Europe it would show a purity mark of 585 not 575.

Oh well, now we know why I don't offer much information - memory just isn't what it used to be.
Thank you for the correction/clarification, emerald40.
