Managed Payments

Hi. I have a few questions about managed payments. Does the bank account linked have to be a checking account, not a savings account, and can it be a joint account? Also, if sellers don't get paid for a couple of days, when do items need to be sent out? Thanks!

Re: Managed Payments

I think the OP was asking if they have to ship before they get the money.  The eBay Managed Payments is OK and a tiny bit cheaper than the old method with Pay Pal, but you have to wait a LOT LONGER to get your money.  Before, I was getting my money available in Pay Pal IMMEDIATELY and I could transfer it immediately to any bank account or use it to make purchases of shipping, supplies, etc.  Now we have to wait 3-4 days (or longer) for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON.  It does NOT take that long to "process" anything in the digital age.

Re: Managed Payments

Why should we have to wait 4 days for what is basically a retail transaction?  With Pay Pal, funds were IMMEDIATELY available.  There is absolutely NO REASON why funds cannot be immediately sent to our bank accounts.  Nothing takes 3-4 days for "processing" in the digital age.  What "processing" is eBay performing???  Everything is done electronically - which is instantaneous.  This is a bunch of horse cr** and a way for eBay to make money (interest on the float) off of our backs.

Re: Managed Payments

The bank knows.  Savings accounts are limited in the number of withdrawals or payments that can occur in a one month period.  Generally, if you exceed that number, the bank can charge you fees or convert your account into a regular checking account.  Savings accounts are not "Demand Deposit" type accounts.
