Mailing items using Post Office kiosk

I reluctantly used the post office kiosk on a holiday to expedite shipping to a customer. The receipt did not have tracking numbers and I instantly knew I was screwed but I was hoping for a honest buyer. Guess what? The buyer said he never received the item. I will never ship any item without tracking. Lesson learned about trusting buyers.

Back in post #5, he said that "The post office receipt is marked first class mail large envelope." So the missing item doesn't have tracking.

It is sad that one day I might need a actual photograph of the item being handed to the buyer to protect myself.

That's just the way things work nowadays.  And it's not because we lost integrity that was somehow more valued in the days of yore.   It's just that we now have the technology to learn about these things taking place and we also have the technology to combat it.  You know that Amazon now takes a picture of every delivered package left on you porch?

That sort of photo actually would mean nothing if a buyer filed a case against you. The only protection is tracking that shows a delivery scan.
