Hi All,
I'm in the listing section - variations.
I want to be able to "upload" (or copy/paste) many "Options" at once. How do you do this?
So for example, I'm selling cards and I have 500 of them.
I put attribute "Card Title and Number".
Instead of doing "Options" one by one (ex. Card Title 1 and Number 1, Card Title 2 and Number 1, etc.)
How can I MASS add the Options?
If I already have the titles and numbers in excel or a notepad, I was assuming you can comma separate them or with colons or some parameter, but it seems to be one by one ONLY.
Anyone have tips/advice to resolve this issue? (it doesn't make sense to start from scratch during the variation option listing when I've already created an excel/notepad with all the information).
There has to be an easier way. It's already time-consuming to add each variation option to a picture, but to have to write the titles and numbers one by one seems like I'm missing something.
Thanks!

Do you have info you can copy/paste here @shipscript ? I know you've helped a lot of sellers with this.

I seem to recall someone had a solution/tool for this, but I am not positive...
I do seem to recall that the "limit" for variations is around 250?
(or used to be)

You can upload your entire variation listing using a spreadsheet template from Seller Hub. If you are not enrolled in seller hub, then you may want to do so.
This link will get you there, and show you the uploads page:
https://www.ebay.com/sh/reports/uploads
Another option is to create your listing with only a single variation. Then use a spreadsheet to upload the remainder of the variations through Seller Hub as a revision.
That revision file would repeat the original and look like this. Notice that the master record contains all variations in the group and then each variation is listed on its own line. There can also be a column for SKU
Action | ItemID | Relationship | RelationshipDetails | StartPrice | Quantity |
Revise | 123456789012 | Card#=John Smith;JaneDoe;Ron Miller
Variation | Card#=John Smith; | 1.99 | 1
Variation | Card#=Jane Doe | 2.99 | 2
Variation | Card#=Ron Miller | 2.99 | 1 |
Each variation listing is limited to 250 items, so divide your cards into groups that make sense. Typically, a variation listing will have cards from a single manufacturer with a single style. That allows completing the item specifics for the entire group of cards that are similar in every way except player/character. The variations are then listed by player/character.
Please note that eBay does not allow using a reserved item specific name as the name of the droplist of variations. So "Card number", "Card Name", "Player", "Character", etc would not be allowed. Instead choose something like "Card#" that eBay would never use as the name of an item specific. Your choice of "Card Title and Number" will also work.

Will the listing template upload as a draft if there isn't a picture link? I would like to load the file into my drafts, add pictures and complete the listing online.

In my experience, which has been a while, no, it will just fail. Or maybe upload without photos, I've seen that there are some listings here without any photos even though that's not supposed to happen, so maybe that explains why?

When I try to use a Revision template where all the RelationshipDetails fit the parent record are listed and then each individual card is listed on a separate row as a variation I keep getting a failure, that a duplicate NameRecord exists. I’m confused because I thought all variation names had to be listed first. Any advice? I was trying to use the table format above after setting an initial listing as Active with one variation, then adding the rest.

For example in my listing for Complete Your Set, I already added Ron Acuna Jr.
Does that mean I do not list him as a variation in my Revision template since it’s already there? Should my 2nd row start with the next person/card and not him? 🤦♂️
