You can either check what similar cards sold for by clicking "advance" in the right corner and then typing in your item and then click "sold."  Another way is just start an auction and see what the cards sell for.

Set a price you are happy with, you already know they are common and not worth much.

BUT bear in mind that cards that sell individually probably include a shipping charge. Even if it us only something less than a dollar it still gives an artificial price to the card. That it sells for, for example, $1.50 doesn't mean it is actually WORTH $1.50 in bulk.

As mentioned above - ask your self how much YOU want and start from there.

Put the entire lot up as one unit and sell it to a professional card seller. A lot less work. Especially the shipping part. Talk to a local card dealer (brick and mortar) to get an idea of the value of the collection.

You can search eBay or use Google to see what other sellers are selling them for.

Here is what one dealer I googled pays for commons from the past 20 years:

Baseball – $10.00 Per 5,000
Football – $30.00 Per 5,000
Basketball – $15.00 Per 5,000
Hockey – $30.00 Per 5,000
Golf – $3.00 Per 5,000

Throwing them directly into the trash is your best bet, any time spent on them is time wasted.

@luckythewinner  has presented a realistic estimate of what a pro would pay.

There are would-be Ebay sellers who would foolishly pay a little more.

First you might want to decide how much time you want to spend on a probably very low value item that may cost more in time, hassle and fees to list and ship than you'd get for them.

What year, sport, brand are they and what condition are they in ? If they are from the 70's back , you might have something. Everyone is assuming when you use the word commons that you are selling junk. But based on what your saying no one really knows worth without out seeing.

Would you buy a box of anything without knowing what you're getting for your money?

You need to explain what you have better. You described it as if its junk.

If its truly junk, then use it as kindling. Cards burn real well
