Whatever happened to the Mentor program?
Anyone being mentored or mentoring a new seller?

That's a good samaritan bubbleman! I wasn't a good samaritan on ebay today, I declined an offer through messages with no best offer on the item, I wasn't in a charitable mood today...or maybe it's the venue....

Never heard of that before.... Been on/off eBay since early 2000's...
I just took some photos and started making money!
What was the purpose of that program?
Ditto that.
At the beginning of my “Career” an ebay friend suggested that I read and read and read the community forums.
I would like to thank all of you for mentoring my efforts whether you knew it or not.

Yeah, I understand. There are days when I just shouldn't be handling breakables. I hate breaking things in the thrift though, I feel terrible and I absolutely despise everyone staring at me.
Last time, I may or may not have muttered under my breath as the worker was sweeping up the shards--If the prices weren't so high, all these shelves wouldn't be so overloaded.

Yes, they have sold here and most currently still do. They use posting I.D.'s.
They who? The ones I’m talking about have really never sold @coolections
If they are regulars and you are stating it as fact please tell.

Respectfully, it is, as I have most recently read, and you will note that I did say that the posters admitted to not being sellers, just buyers, so not a rumor if that is what was stated in the post. Therefore, not my opinion, it was, in fact, posted that way.
Since it is a fact please post the names of these people who give out selling advice but they admit they do not sell.

No, no one made me a mod. We have people stating facts but showed no evidence of such a thing is all. If you've been around a while many posters think if you use a posting I.D. you do not sell here which is not true.

You are correct in this. There are some who actually admit they are buyers, not sellers, who come here to put 25+ anti-seller posts in each thread and want to give advice? Go figure! I personally, do not read them, just skip over them.

@coolections Are we on the same page here? Do you understand that I was talking about the people who are approved to respond to replies on the member to member support board? Those are the community mentors. That’s what my comment was referring to. As an aside, there are also a couple posters who are not community mentors that openly admit they aren’t sellers but regularly give advice. I’m sure you know who they are.

I don't think anyone here was talking about posters who use a posting ID.
Right. No one here was talking about that. We were all talking about posters that openly state they are not and never have been a seller.

Sorry to reply again but I wanted to add that I myself am one of the posters I was talking about seeing as how I no longer sell here but I give sellers advice. Others are just as open about that too, some of them have never sold....

Cool,
You know full well I can’t name names. It appears we are talking about apples and oranges here. Advice from anyone is a good thing and meant to be helpful I’m sure. This is probably my fault as I was referring to helpers who are anti-seller, proclaim they are a buyer, and will hammer the board with rhetoric against the seller. If you have been reading the board recently you would have read it.
To further my point, I would never be so uncouth as to go to the Buyers Duscussion board and expound anti-buyer rhetoric over and over, let alone would I start such a thread on the buyers board.
So, any advice coming from such a person has no credibility with me any longer.
Sorry my post bothers you and perhaps is not the subject matter of this thread, but it is what it is, did happen, these are my personal feelings on the subject and anyone else can do or feel as they please.

Just wanted to say that you, in my opinion, are one of the best advice givers on the board.

Just curious if you do not sell here how do you know the ends and outs of selling and be able to give advice to sellers ? Maybe since you only buy here, the buyers board could be a place to help those people ?
