Item never returned yet case closed

Sold an item and buyer said no longer needed so I offered return. Ebay takes all the funds and the person never sent it back. Ebay closes case and doesn't let you appeal? It's been 27 days.

Did he open a return request or simply send you an email.

If he opened a request did you access the request and send him a prepaid label? If not then there is the problem.

You MUST respond to a return request.

A few more details would help.

What exactly did the message say when eBay closed the case?

Did the buyer open a Not As Described case at some point? Something more had to happen for eBay to have been involved in a return.

Hopefully it wasn't the $ 230 item you sold on August 21?

eBay does not take the funds unless you did not reply to a specific claim within the time allotted you on the claim.  

When you say you offered a return was that done in eBay messaging and did the Buyer actually file a return claim?

New or low activity Sellers can have their Funds held for 21 days on sales under $ 1000.

Did ebay give the refund to the buyer or did they just put a hold on the funds until the claim was resolved?
